soda drinkers
Just a word of warning ... the bubbles might hurt early on so you'll want to flatten your soda a bit before having any. And I just because you may like diet cherry 7up now, you might not like it post-op. My tastes changed significantly. I don't mind diet soda now and then but I certainly can't drink regular soda. It gives me gas.

Do try to give it some time before you drink them. I got a sip by mistake at about 4 weeks post-op and it burned like the dickens. But, as Kathleen said, if you're going to drink them let them go a little flat first. I think your choice of diet 7Up is a good one though.

I found that I was able to break the addiction somewhat by drinking ice water with fresh lime juice and a little Splenda. I order it every time I go out to eat, so I really don't miss the sodas. Also, adding that little bit of acid to water sometimes helps folks who are experiencing pain when they drink plain water.
Good luck!
