Period Cramps??!!!

Some of us suffer from bad cramps.  What has been most effective med wise for you. (no these aren't the types of cramps that a hot cup of tea will soothe, if you know what I'm saying.)

I know Dr Gagner suggest codeine like 222's - anyone using something that is *really working* without NSAIDs?  Thanks.

eh, I know what you mean, I had a fibroid out 10 years ago and since then virtually no cramps, then I had my DS surgery 4 months ago and HOLY COW they were HORRIBLE !!!!!!.. And of course I couldn't take nsaids, I took some vicodin that they sent me home with from the hospital and they didn't really help much and I also got a prescription for Ultram (tramadol) it's for pain, not a narc and they didn't touch it..
