OMG - I am the exact same way - right down to the cranky/never passing up a meal even if it's a few bites/food in the car business, LOL.

I get anxious and cranky when I'm too hungry.   Like I want to gnaw my arm off or something, LOL.

YES!  If I get too hungry, I can literally feel my stomach turn in on itself, I swear!  Then the arm gnawing desire sets in, and my normal happy mood is OUT the window, replaced with the "starving *****" syndrome I've acquired.  I can get positively viral, and the hunt is on for protein, in mass quantity.  It's kind of crazy actually!

I eat all day as well... some days it's a constant feast, then others I have to work to get my protein requirements in (those are few and far between). Just seems to be my normal.

I agree with all the others.  I eat a lot too and it kind of freaks me out sometimes, but I have actually started losing again also!  I do find when I start on carbs, I eat more and more, because they don't fill me up.  Now I'm on a carb detox after an overdose last weekend, and I haven't been hungry at all this week.  (Could be the heat...)  But that seems to help.  You're normal!

hey, your still early out! as a newbie i had to eat often or every two hours or i would feel sic****ep nuts in my bag also but i always keep boiled eggs and cold cuts for a quick snack, i tried to keep bacon around but that never last because i can eat a whole pack of bacon by myself! i notice when i stick with protien i also dont crave carbs. i had an issue at work where all they have is lowfat food! i bring my lunch now or go outside and get a burger with no bun or eat half the bun or a large wendys chili.i even buy cold cuts by themselves,  this also might be a good time to go on a supermarket run and stock up on ds friendly food so you dont snack on the wrong things, i have days when my sleeve is tight (that time of the month) and when i can eat alot (late at night) believe me nobody will understand why you have to eat so much,my coworkers and family are used to it now and just shake their heads and pass the meat!

I have to eat often, it seems like it just gose throw me. I do focus on the protein part and then if I have meet it and have room for something I try to make it something filling or what ever.. lol. But like Becky said, when your really hungry keep a good protein snake on had, that way you dont have to worry about the carb monster.

Eating every two hours is normal with the DS. So quit worrying about frequency of intake.

Now let's talk about your choices. You KNOW what you need to eat. So eat it. When I am tempted to pig out on gas bomb stuff, I set myself a rule: No gas bomb foods until I have ingested 30 grams of protein in solid food (supplements don't count). Once I have eaten my protein, then I can have whatever I want. I always take in a LOT less because I've eaten filling stuff already.

Make yourself some easy-to-grab protein choices so they are handy. You are eating for NOURISHMENT, not trying to control and deprive yourself.

Uhhh...you mean we're supposed to STOP eating at some point? (*grin*)

You're nearing six months post-op---you're reaching the point where you CAN eat, and your body probably realy NEEDS to eat. As long as you're eating protein/fat FIRST, I doubt you can eat enough to hurt your weight loss.

I'm 7.5 years post-op, and I STILL eat every 3-4 hours, starting when I get up and not stopping until I got to bed at night. Your new metabolism has different requirements than your old one did. You do NOT need to 'diet' ad count calories---you need to nourish your body and count grams of protein, because now it's hard to get enough.

Eating the 'wrong foods'---that you DO need to address. As a DSer, you can eat a LOT of food, as long as you eat the RIGHT food. You should never go hungry again.
