I'm 2 an half years out. lost 190ish Lb's. Got January 5th plastic surgery date. I think they are just doing a lower body lift an then a cut down the middle to tighten my whole core. So like a upside down T. Does any one have any advice or stories to help me get mental prepared. Thanx

I had the anchor cut tummy tuck in '03.  I could not stand up straight for weeks after!!!!  I was pulled tight.  I rented a walker (I was 31) with wheels and a seat that you could fold down, and sit on.  It came in handy walking in the stores!!!  After any major surgery you tire out SO FAST!!!!

Good LUCK!!!!!!!!!

If you look  through the threads from the past month, you will see two or three really good posts about plastic surgery. You can then look at their profiles where they have posted pictures and some have blogged about their plastics as well.

Best wishes. I hear it is pretty intense!

I had an anchor cut abdominoplasty, too ... about 2 1/2 years ago now. I would highly suggest a compression garment. Practice getting up and down off of a bed and couch without using your tummy muscles (start to roll off and stand up), as that little maneuver will come in very handy. Don't lift anything more than 10 pounds for at least 6 weeks, then 20 pounds up to 6 months. The swelling and internal healing takes a lot longer than the external, so take care of yourself! Drink lots of water. Take extra iron. I also took Arnica before surgery to help with the bruising and healing. Make sure you force yourself to walk upright, not hunched over, after the first couple of days, or it will hurt more in the long run (something I learned from other abdominal surgeries long ago). If you search for my posts from June 2008, you can read all about my plastics and my experiences, as I posted regular updates from Brazil!

Best of luck to you! Enjoy the results!!!

I lost about the same amount of weight as you and had the anchor cut TT. Check out my profile for pics and my story there. Man, I love it! the recovery was not so bad. The drains were the worst. Once those were removed, I was sooo much better off!

Good luck to you!
