No more oil slicks...is my DS broken?

I take in a tremendous amount of fat and oil but have had only a couple of  "oil slicks" early out.

What is a broken DS? Everyone's body is different.

I never have had oil slicks...And my DS isn't broken.

Oh, and I eat PLENTY of fat.

You're a hyper malabsorber, so surely your DS is not broken.

Jolly-

I'm not gaining weight, so I guess that means it's still working.  It just dawned on me that I hadn't seen any oil slicks in quite a while, and I thought I'd ask.

At nearly 4 years out, I no longer have oil slicks.  Does this mean that my DS is "broken"?

Means you are skilled at living with a DS.

Not really...have fluctuated 10lbs from lowest weight.  So protein and fat intake gets increased and try to knock off all the carb junk food when it fluctuates up.

True, protein will definitely reduce the cravings for carbs.

Nope...nice and stable.  I may wiggle plus or minus ten pounds, but it's not a gain that can't be accounted for by extra fluids.  I should get a medal for always having something to drink nearby!

I just had to put in my 2 cents.I am well over 4 years from my surgery, I ea,t are you ready for this about 700 grams of fat a day!!

I have a ton of oil slicks every day To me it;s fine I know my DS works great! I do believe if anyone wanted to know why oil slicks stop, it's because of not eating enough fat.. I control my weight by eating mostly fat, then protein, then carbs. low carbs.I do not have problems believe it or not with accidents. I feel I have to go, then I go. No problem I love my surgery. My weight is stable at 120 lbs.  Hope this helps.
