How long did you take off work?

My surgery is two weeks from tomorrow, I can't believe how quickly it's coming up! It seem like the process was taking forever and I often questioned if it would actually happen... Now, I feel overwhelmed at how soon it will be surgery day! So, here's my question: how long were you out of work after your DS? I took four weeks off, I told them I hoped to be back in three but I should take four off to be safe...

I took 4 weeks off. I started working from home after 2 weeks (just a little) but I was back full-time in person after four weeks.

I have a desk job and I took 2 weeks off. I went back to work 1/2 days at the end of 2 weeks, and full time at the end of the 3d week.

I said same thing as you .... But I am at week 4 now and cannot work yet. I still have quite a bit of fatigue and nausea on some days. So I am taking 6 weeks. Everyone is different, and I had a lapband removed as well ... So that might make me different. But I am glad for the extra time to rest.

I took 4 weeks off and I worked from home a few days here and there until I returned full time to work.  Good luck!  Welcome to your new life.

I took off 8 weeks total (between Halloween and New Years).  I was extremely listless for 5-6 weeks, and spent the last two weeks trying to work out an eating/drinking/pooping routine.

I took ten days off. Went back moving slowly, with the option of using a stair-chair (but didn't), Wt lift restriction (which I completely forgot about when a client needed a lift assist, oops), and I only had to work every-other day. The second week back I experienced a couple of unexplained episodes waves of flushinng and weakness. Tried to continually sip on water and have

small sips of protein enriched broths. Got better every day and it was nice to have something to occupy my mind. I did not feel I could monitarily afford to take any time off.

I am a field nurse and I took two weeks off and returned to work with restrictions for another two weeks of not lifting anything over 15 pounds.
