Topic: Not Alone!!
I'm new to this group; but glad to know that I am not alone! Hope to find out more about doctors, med.s and coping with fibromyalgia. I can hardly get through working anymore and need to find out about disabilities available. Living in alot of pain and although family and friends try to understand; they really don't see the pain as it were a visable wound. My doctor is no good and trying to find another one. I know I need more tests done. I was told the waiting list to see a Rhuematologitst is 2 yrs. My doctor said it would do her no good to write a letter for me and my symptoms; as I have not been diagnosed with fibromyalgia yet; but the doctor is the one treated me for it!! Don't get it.
Topic: RE: lyrica ????
I can't remember how long it took for me maybe a couple of days. I use it just for sleeping only. I do need to warn you though it only goes up to 300mg and I am at 250mg now. Upside I've been on it for a long time probably since it came out, but I think I need to try something else cause I'm just not sleeping through the night with a side of Ambein and I've even tried eating turkey, bananas and cheese before bed. Still didn't sleep. Good luck to you! christine (internetnut)

Topic: RE: Savella Question
I take Savella its the best that I have found for me. Just think really hard about surgery it has made my fibro so bad some days I really regret having surgery. my weight loss has been so slow since now I hardly move these day because I hurt to bad.
Topic: RE: Savella Question
Savella worked ok...not terrible but not the best either. Lyrica was bad for the side effects but the biggest change comes when I stop taking the Lexapro! I was on it BEFORE I knew about the fibro for bi-polar and depression but coming off it I REALLY notice the aches, the fog, and the crabbies. Good Luck finding something that works!
Topic: RE: Savella Question
Everything has side effects.....Cymbalta works great...I cant take sevalla ....tried it, and got sick....now remember, that just me, we all react differently to meds. I take Cymbalta, gabapentin, tramadol and vicoden. It all seems to be working for me. No 2 people are alike with fibro.....
Good luck!

Topic: RE: Savella Question
I have tried Cymbalta, Gabapentin, etc. and didn't get any results. So far, Lyrica is the only one that has helped but just not enough. I take Tramadol and Tizanidine, too. I have read a lot of blogs on Savella and I'm pretty interested, just worried about the side effects.

Glad to meet you, I'm Shauna,
I visit every now and then for a friend. She just had WLS but also has Fibro. The information I gain from this site is a GREAT help for me. I hate to see my friend struggle so much and see her in any pain.

Topic: RE: Savella Question
I haven't tried Savella. I was on Lyrica for a short while, but it didn't help at all and I gained weight. Now I've got a script to fill to try Cymbalta, but I'm hesitating... will have to give it a go though.
