Hello i am also new to this forum and good to see that im not alone out there. I have had fm for a long time but no drs could pin point this my newest dr finally find that my pain was fm. i hurt all the time have the worst time sleeping and feel too exhausted to go anywhere with my family. i have gained over 13lbs in less than 3 weeks and hate the pain that being caused from the excess weight put on. the days i do feel up to going out i get so tired so quick that i just wanna leave wherever i'm at and go home and lie down. i see my dr on monday to see what alternatives there are before i continue to gain more and more weight from little activity.

Hello kootenay I just wanna say congrats on your weight loss and your pain free days. I have just been diagnosed with fm and think I've had for much longer but no dr actually dx me til recently. It has taken a toll on my body and my life and I hate the fact that I have started to gain weight. I have had issues in the past with weight gain but had the help of so many diet pills that I have tried to keep the weight off. Now with fm it is so hard to keep the weight off with no pills and especially no exercise. Before I started taking savella and elavil at night to help sleep i was weighing 176 and i'm 5'2 and a lil less than a month i have gone up to 187. Man do i hate it.. i have an appt this monday with my doc to see if i qualify for the lap band but after reading your denials from the insurance company i'm not to sure how well it will go for me.  just wanna know the dr you say you seen in tj how much did he charge you for the procedure? and weren't you afraid of that quality of work since he is a non us surgeon?

oh yeah as many of us have said it is so tiring to wanna work out or do anything for that matter. and on the days you think your up for it it hurts so much to even walk for 10 mins. i was on cymbalta and taken off and put on savella and elavil to help sleep. but so far nothing. i continue to be patient and have faith that it will get better. i've gained over 13 lbs in less than a month scary and have an appt to discuss my options before i get heavier. just not to sure if i'm at that weight i need to be to qualify for the lap band. knowing how strict insurance is and all but i just dont wanna get as heavy as i have once been.

I will admit that I am a viewee and not a contributor.  I had my DS almost 2 years ago and was just very recently diagnosed with CFS and FM, although I have been fighting for a diagnosis for over a year.  I have had symptoms for most of my adult life, but contributed them to being obese, so therefore I did not seek medical attention for what I thought was going to be a "you need to lose weight" lecture.

I will be honest and say that I can almost "deal" with the chronic pain, it's the debilitating fatigue that is slowly killing me.  I have tried several drugs to help give me the energy I need to get through my days, but I am super sensitive to them and they make me jittery and anxious.

I have not responded to any posts, as I don't feel I have much to offer since I am still learning about my diseases.  Thank you to those who do!

I am 33 and have had migraines since I was in middle school. I was diagnosed in high school. I have been on all kinds of medications over the counter, prescriptions, vitamins, etc. Currently, I am taking topomax 100mg twice a day, Co Q10 vitamin 100 twice a day, Magnesium twice a day, Vitamin B Complex daily, Prozac 60mg daily, flexiril 5mg daily at night and Imitrex 100mg as needed. This has been the best combination for me so far. My neurologist started me on it and my regular dr has continued it. Also, I take the birth control that makes you only have your period every 3 months that keeps the hormones down. Hope this helps. I was taking Lyric as well to help with fibromyalgia.

Topic: RE: Three Supplements that seem to help my FM
Good job on doing your own investigating!! I have a great fibro doc that believes in both pharmies and natural remedies. He's open to everything!!
I agree that an herbal blend to help with sleep is wonderful! My doc agrees, too. He's the one that recommended mine. It's called SuperSnooze and is a blend of Melatonin, Valerian, Hops and others, similar to yours.
I also take Neurontin three times a day, which really helps. I have Zanaflex to keep me in deep sleep once I AM asleep. My doc also recommended a HUGE vitamin D supplement.
You all hang in there. Fibromyalgia can be a real pain! I'm working on getting better every day!
