Topic: RE: Lyrica post surgery
I am pre-op, but just giving my two cents... if Lyrica doesn't work for you after surgery, can always switch to Neurontin. Same family of drugs with similar effects. I'm not a doc or pharmacist, but I know that I couldn't take Lyrica snd Neurontin works just fine for me.

Topic: RE: Views who are ya all
Hi there ladies!  I am a "view" and I have chronic pain etc.  I frequent this board and read all you have to say.  It's just nice to know that there are people who feel the same as I do and understand what the rest of the world doesn't.

It is courious to me there are so many views on post and not many replies. So there must be many with at least an interest or wondering about Fibro fo some reason. Those of us that do post are pretty awesome and very educated in one way or another about this Fibro. Love to have you view, but would love to have more intereacting, especially if we can help each other....

Topic: RE: interstitial cystitis?
I have fibromyalgia, interstitial cystitis and endometriosis.  Sometimes all three of these conditions are linked.  I manage my IC with DSMO treatments.  I go to my Urologist every 4-6 weeks and have a catheter inserted with this DSMO ****tail.  It is made up of 4 liquid medications it is put into my bladder and I hold it for approximately 5 minutes then you urinate it out.  The process begins going once a week for 8 weeks then you continue to go as often as you need.  I am now able to sit through a movie.  Sit through my grad school classes as long as I go right before and after class.  I only go once or twice in the middle of the night.  I used to have to urinate every 15-20 minutes with the feeling of a constant bladder infection.  Now if I am careful and watch my diet I only have flair ups once in a while.  There are certain foods and beverages you should learn to stay away from.  You can try the IC network online.  If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.  I wish you the best of luck...it isn't an easy medical condition to have.  None of them are...but it does get a little better when you have the right treatment.

Wishing everyone a Healthy and Happy New Year...

Topic: RE: Will WLS help??
Hello,

Yes, I do know what you mean about getting around easier. Which surgery is RNY? Are you still going to lose more weight? Do you still get full faster?

God Bless

I had RNY Sept 26,2006. The weight lost has not helped with either the fibro or arthritis. BUT the weight lost has helped me get aound easier if that makes sense. I  am glad that I had the surgery. God only knows what I would have weighed if i had not had it. i started at 470 then lowest was 305,now i weigh about 345. I cannot do much exercise and that makes a difference.

Good Luck

Hi,
What kind of WLS did you have, if you do not care to share. I have fibro and I was hoping if I get approved and lose weight that it would help the fibro, did the weight lose help with any of your pain at all? I am on the pre- diet.
God Bless
Evie

Topic: RE: Sleep mask
I use one too! First tried one when I spent a week in the hospital, just try to sleep there! It worked great and coupled with ear plugs I can sleep for days! I can get them at the local $1 store for a buck so can't beat that. I'd urge others to give it a try if they have difficulty sleeping.
