Hi figure0156! I am so sorry to hear how much pain you are in! Your not alone in this fight. I'm in pain all the time as well! I suffer from fibromyalgia. For years doctors have tried everything there was even had me on morphine did nothing at all. I even tried weed HA what a joke! Didn't do much. My doctors told me in 2007 they couldn't do anything they tried it all. They gave up on me. In 2008 my doctor meet with a pain specialist he told my doctor about 2 mediction that alot have tried together its like any other meds works for some but I thought maybe they can tried it on you! They are cesamet (nabilone) for pain and amitarptyline for sleeping and pain. I hope they can help!! I fall sometimes use to be alot but still fall...I'm in a chair since 2006. I can't do anything without help. Wish I could help some hun. Take care of your self!

Topic: RE: massage anyone?
The first time I tried massage was right before I knew I had fibro. I was in pain for thee days because of the pressure/pressure point**** in the massage. You really have to see a medical massage therapist and let them know you ave fibro ahead of time to get any benefit from the massage.
I have to agree with theho****er therapy though. That's what does best for me. If I though I could live in warm/ho****er ll the time, that is where you would find me.

I take Cymbalta too. I noticed immediate pain relief in the legs. I take it once a day at night and although it's not a cure all, it helps tremendously.

Have they tried putting you on the patch? I'm on the fentanyl patch which delivers a constant dose of pain medication and I change it every 48 hours. I take narcotics for break through pain and it helps. The thing with Chronic pain that most Dr's don't get is that short term meds do nothing for it, you need round the clock pain management. I used to take Opana but since having WLS and not being able to take extended release they put me on the patch. It doesn't take the pain away but it does help some.
I'm sorry you have to go through this, I know it's horrible. I spent most of my 20's being treated like a pill chaser. I hope and pray you are able to find something that works.

Topic: RE: Suboxone or Plaquenil anyone?
Yep, pretty incredible what they can get away with, and to be able to just say "it's her fibro", though there's nothing in my record prior to the accident that makes mention of burning, stabbing, pain down my neck. Interesting, too, how the companies join forces against the one who was injured, even if my company wouldn't have to pay out on it. Thanks for your prayers...

I have had fibro for years. I have a massage therapist that is well versed in fibro. It is painful while she is doing it. I also drink water (to release the toxins) and then take a warm bath with epsom salts. If I am still hurting the next day she has me come back and she does a gentle massage to work out the soreness. It takes a couple before I start to feel relief. I also take Ultram, Lyrica and Reflen and many other meds. I am not able to work but I make sure I get out of bed every day!

Oh i feel your pain - literally - the meds wear off quick bc of the rny - i have had a migraine for 6 days. went to the er twce - my dr is on vaca - her secretary says i need to see her to get meds - like i am an addict - here we go - y does everyone acknowledge fibro then treat us like we are crazy when we tell them about the pain - I pray i make it thru this - I feel very crippled to this illness.
