when first diagnosed with FM I was put on Amatriptyline. Within 1 yr I gained 100#. Kept it on for 18yrs until I had my RNY. I got off the med and still didn't lose weight. Personally, I would not recommend it. Best wishes on your journey. Carol

I was taking Topamax for migraines, a big dose twice a day. I was also taking Lyrica a big dose for fibro. I still take flexiril. I take prozac too. I am getting off the prozac currently. Then I will get off the flexiril. I want to try to get prego. My husband an I do not have any children yet. However, now I am having doubts as to if I should have children or not. I don't want to pass down migraines, fibro, depression, or anxiety to my children. My husband has migraines as well. I am getting to the age that I have to decide...

I too suffer from Fibromyalgia with frequent fibro-fog.  I'm on many meds that also lead to 'fogginess'.  Are you on medication?  I'm very depressed also, I'm told that my meds contribute to the depression. I also cannot exercise on a regular basis and I feel crappy most of the time.

Personally I think everyone reacts differently to medications. I went on Welbutrin to quit smoking and have not been that hungry except for when I first wake up so I eat breakfast now and I don't feel like I need a nap at 11 in the morning anymore. My sister was on Welbutrin for depression and gained a ton of weight and wanted to sleep all the time. She is on Elivil now and says she has tons of energy (with 5 kids and a job as a rad tech she NEEDS a lot of energy lol) and has even started losing some of the weight. I think the only thing we can do is try something for a bit and see how we do with it and go from there.

I have tried the neurotinin and ended up not being able to take it because it made me so stoned I couldn't function. Since i have to work it didn't work out for me. Wish I could have reacted better to it though because there for the time I was on it (about 2 weeks I think) I had no pain whatsoever. I miss not being in pain.
ETA: I have a really high sensitivity level for drugs so finding something that doesn't mess me up is kind of difficult sometimes.

Topic: RE: Lyrica: Thoughts?
I don't know about the RNY and I plan to check on it with the DS. It's on my list of questions to ask the docs about along with other meds I'm on. Because of the malabsoprtion issue with the DS I am wondering if they will have to up my dose. I'm on a fairly low dose now and only take the Celebrex as needed. On days when I have more pain I usually take Excedrin Back and Body along with a Celebrex and seem to do fairly well with that. (Still get some stiff and sore issues but not as bad as if I don't take anything at all)

interesting - glad something is working for someone!  Stiffness bothers me more than pain most day and Celebrex is supposed to be good for that. They won't let me take it though. Can't remember why but it's something to do with other meds I take. Can you take Celebrex after WLS? I'm reading about so many things I won't be able to take after RNY in August. Has me wondering what's left to take.

oh my goodness! I hope the move helped clear up the roach problem! those are awful! and yeah the stupid ads are one of the reasons I gave up on TV a few years ago. I havent taken cymbalta but I have lyrica and i was not happy with it. Now I have celebrex and when I remember I have it I take it. I wish I had remembered it that day I was having the flare and trying to get myself to work. BUT I did find it in a different purse the other day and set it on my desk so i could find it again when I need it.

And Miss_Kitty..... I am sooooooooooooooo with you on the bat thing.
