It's not easy dear. Sometimes it makes me sore for days. Look for easy positions, hands and kneeds. On our back is painful. Try to make notice when you are having a flare and avoid sex. Talk to your doctor cause this is also an important part of our lives.

Topic: RE: R U tired of people blaming your weight for your pain?!!!!
I came right out and asked my surgeon if the RNY would help the fibromyalgia pain he said "No" I found a fibromyalgia center called Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Center Inc and they told me it would not help my pain, I started treament with them and now my pain is undercontrol for the most part and I have lost weight because I feel better.  My sister told me Sunday" Now that you lost some weight you will feel better"  I replayed "Now I fell better I can move more and I am able to loose weight"  The averge person can not comprehend what fibromyalgia feels like and that some of the things that cause Fibromyalgia also cause us to gain weight.

Hi Hislady,

Thanks for your reply and info...I'm just so tired of trying to figure out what the heck is going on...and has been going on for a while, that I'm both tired of searching for an answer (out of funds, no insurance, so additional test etc are nearly impossible) and yet see the need to find out, once and for all what's the what.

Thank you both for being so welcoming...exactly what I needed...I'll have to digest (and research...though probably wont for a while, just 'cause...you know).

But I will not forget how nice you both were.

hugs,

Christian

Well other than just being gentle and careful I got no advise maybe some of the younger folks will chime in. I'm blessed with a wonderful hubby who hasn't had sex in years partly for this very reason and partly because we are in our 60's and just not that interested any more.Once I hit menopause I lost all interest, in fact we even sleep in seperate rooms cause we both sleep better that way. Sex just isn't that big a deal for us but for someone young I imagine it can be very devastating.

I am so with you on feeling like you are way older than you are. As I mentioned in a previous post, I am 33 and feel like I am 84. Then again, I have seen some 84 year olds who jog or power walk around the park! ( I so envy them!) I also feel depressed allot of the time too due to the contant pain. I will wake up feeling good sometimes.....until I bend down to pat my cat, then WHAM!..... now my back hurts.....AGAIN! So I go into depression again because #1 I feel stupid for bending down to pat my cat, (I should know better!) And #2, I am only 33 years old.....and should be able to do something as simple as patting my cat without any pain!

You should talk to your doc about Fibro, but also mention about chronic pain. They both seem very similar. I am going to talk with my doc at my next appointment to see if she thinks I have Fibro or chronic pain. I also see a chyropractor for my back......maybe he will have some answers too.

I hope you find answers soon. Do your best to hang in there. Take care and God bless.

Do you see the glass as half empty or half full? I say, what difference does it make--I paid for a full glass,so either way I am getting jipped!!!

How does one with chronic pain/fibro make love with their hubbies?

This is an embarasing subject matter, but I am fairly new to this painfull body stuff. I tried making love with my fiancee, but it was very uncomfortable due to my body aches and pains. (we are wondering if maybe that is how I hurt my tailbone and lower back) Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks again.

Thanks everyone for your support. I think I may be dealing more with chronic pain than fibro. I saw a rhumatologist who touched me in several places, some hurt and others didn't. He hands me a pamplet on fibro and suggested water therapy. He didn't give me a concrete diagnosis. I haven't been back to see him. About 3 weeks ago, I was sitting in church (on a padded pew) and my tail bone started hurting, for no reason. I wasn't slouching or anything that I am aware of. Anyway, that was about 3 weeks ago and I am still in pain. Last night was excruciating and went to my local ER. They did an x-ray of my tailbone and lower back and nothing showed up. The doc thinks I may have somehow bruised my tailbone. It seems when I am starting to feel better, my body finds something else to add to the pain! It hurts to sit, to walk, etc. And I am allergic to most pain meds. The doc said to just keep putting a heating pad on it several times a day and use Bengay in between. I am only 33 years old, but I feel like I am 84!
Thanks again everyone for your support.

I was having the same problem, my brain would just not shut up! I finally asked my pharmacist and she said I could take diphenhydramine, the stuff in benedryl. For the first time in years I just clunk out within minutes of hitting the pillow, such a relief. I even feel more rested which is also a relief. I could still spend a week sleeping but at least now I feel like I did sleep.
