Anyone with less than 75 lb to lose pre-op?

Hi! Are there any folks on this board who were banded with less than 75 lb to lose? I am setting a goal of about 60-65 lb, to get me to "normal" weight BMI. But I can't seem to find any similar folks on this board. Are you in hiding? Or am I truly alone. Thanks, Tara

My surgeon would like to see me down 80 pounds, but I will be thrilled with anything over 50! I started at 224 and would like to get to 150, if that is any help. I have lost 30 so far, but have slowed down recently. Mostly my fault, need to get my butt in gear..lol, and due to not enough restriction. Hopefully I can get in early next month for a fill. Good Luck in your journey!!

I started out at 224 when I had my surgery on March 15, 2006. I have dropped 18 pounds (206). I would love to weigh 124 but my initial goal is 150 then I can work off those last 20 pounds. Good luck in your quest for a smaller body. Joyce

I need to lose about 75 pounds to get to 'normal' BMI. It is going much slower for me than others. Maybe that is the reason. I have been stalled for about a month. Can't seem to get below 188 and I still have 40 pounds to lose. I keep telling myself to be patient but it is hard when I exercise everyday and eat right 85% of the time. Shirley 219/188/145

I'm surprised that you can find a surgeon, and get insurance approval, if you're 75 pounds overweight. The requirements are usually 100 pounds or more. Bette

My insurance will pay for patients who are above 35 BMI and have co-morbidities. In my case, I was borderline for weight, but had high blood pressure, high cholesterol and reflux.

Miz: Y'know, I always wondered about using 100 pounds as a "cutoff" number, since it's sort of arbitrary. 75 pounds overweight is a much more serious thing for someone say, 4' 10" than for 5' 10". Bette

Nope--I got 30 lbs to go and "only" had about 90-95 in the first place.
