hi everyone. i have made an appointment to see my OBGYN next monday and i plan on going on birth control. i have heard that weight loss can significantly increase your fertility and i can't get pregnant at this stage in my recovery/life.

what birth control are you on? what do you recommend? are there better birth control pills/methods than others for larger ladies?

and wow am i loving my sex life after surgery. my confidence is so much more that i feel like everything old is new again, if you know what i mean. hehe.

thanks!

Hey great question.  I get banded 9/7 but my obgyn appt is 8/27  and they want me to switch.  Anyone know about  YAZ?

i have been looking at YAZ actually, because i am pretty much convinced i have PMDD... horrible mood swings and depression the week or so before and 2-3 days into my period.

if anyone knows about YAZ that would be great!

Sorry, I don't know anything about YAZ, but I do know about  bad PMS and horrible mood swings. Let me know if it helps, maybe I'll talk to my doctor about switching. Lyndee

Hi Bridget,  Beautiful new avatar. I use the pill, low-ogestrel-28 this has worked very well for me. I have used this for years with no problems. I switched to the patch for about 6 mos. when the patch first came out, but it really did not stay on well, I just saw something on the news about the patch that said it can cause death because it gives too much hormone. Anyway, I'm sure the GYNO will go over all options with you. The biggest plus for me with the pill is no more horrible cramps. Best of luck, Lyndee

thanks lyndee!

i am hoping to get on a pill that doesn't have weight gain as a symptom... as i can't handle that! haha.

i will talk it all over with him. (yeah the only appt. they had was with a male doctor. i've never gone to a male doctor before. eeek!)

I am so glad you asked that question, because I was wondering the same thing and hadn't asked yet.  I am going to have my 40th birthday the last day of the month and I definitely do not want any surprises!  I haven't been on BC for years.  I always figured I was too fat to get pregnant, although it did not stop me on my 2nd child.  I heard that weight loss increases your fertility too, so I am really scared!  SO thanks for asking the question.  I am reaping the benefits by reading your replies.  Have a great day and good luck on your continued journey!  Just think, if sex is so good right now, at the beginning, how much better it will be when you are at goal!

No kidding?!  You may be 10 years younger than me, but I do believe that you hit your sexual peak in your 40's.  My husband is 1o years older than me so I hope when I hit my peak it won't kill him!  Lol,  just kidding!
