My husband got a tetanus shot over a week ago. His arm was sore for a couple days, which was to be expected, but then he got achey all over and tired. He is still not himself. I'd be interested in any feedback out there. Thanks in advance. CIndy

Cindy, I've had soreness at the injection site, but never a systemic reaction like you're describing.  Maybe your husband should check in with his doctor, just to be safe. Jean

If his injection site looks ok, I wouldnt think he would be allergic to the shot, maybe just sensitive. I would call the doctor just to be safe. If you don't want to wait till tomorrow, then maybe you can call your pharmasist or poison control and ask them.

Thanks Debbie and Jean. He's feeling worse. We're going to put a call in. I also googled this and he fits the side-effects to a T. Have a good evening. Thanks again. . .

Just before I had my gall bladder surgery (3 weeks ago) I went in to get clearance for surgery and my family doctor recommended I get my tetanus booster.  I felt like crap for a few days - at first I just felt like I had a fever, but I was also very tired.  It eventually got better, or else the after-affects of surgery took over :)

I get that way after the flu shot and this year I also got a severe reaction to it (red, arm swelling, etc).  I had to go on steroids for a week to treat it.  You should certainly call the doctor and ask if there is anything you can do.  Make sure he isn't running a fever either (the doctor's office would want to know that).  I hope he feels better soon!
