Love it Or Hate it?

Loved it at first until my slips.  Hate it  because I don't have one anymore due to it being removed and not being able to have it replaced because of the damage it has done to my interior.

I was banded 2 years ago.  I absolutely love my band!  This was the best choice for me.  I receive compliments almost daily (love it).  I have lost weight at a very nice pace.  I am certainly loving this journey.

I don't have a band but am a VSGer who frequents ALL the forums and are friends with way to many folks who have had bands over a year and NOW they would be part of the hated it cause they have revised to sleeves...if they can...I have a few that the band did so much damage to their stomachs they can never have any other WLS.

If you are interested in other options check out the Band to Sleeve revisions who post on the VSG forum and the Revision forum as well.  If you aren't interested in cutting your stomach then don't bother.

Love my sleeve but was almost a Bandster!

I loved it the first few years,I really did. And my post at that time would read like most of these responses... then came the complications. Reflux, too tight, unable to eat, never knowing when I would be able to eat, literally. I lost a lot of weight, but never got close to goal (I did have two pregnancies with the band)I had a sweet spot. I followed the rules. Once I became too tight and had some wretched throwing up, my esophogus just did not get over it and it never has. I have now gained back all my weight.

I could go on and on. If it were me, I wouldn't do it. I am planning a band to sleeve revision in the next month.

 I LOVE my band!  Even if (God forbid) I should encounter complications down the road, I'd still consider the best decision of my adult life.

Just want to thank Midwestern Girl for reminding me what I *don't* like about this board:

http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/VSG/4131362/A-Band-Thread-That-Needs-A-Bit-Of-Balance/

No wonder all the Debbie Downers jumped in all of a sudden.  {{{{sigh}}}}

Edit:  That link apparently won't work, but it's a thread on the VSG forum rounding up the troops to "balance" this thread with band horror stories.

The OP did ask if people like it or hate it.  Those that hate it usually go to their new forum for whatever revision type they had.  I am truely sorry you have a problem with truth and balance, but that's for you to deal with. (shrugs shoulders)

If I would have had more balanced info I might not have made the mistake of getting banded.  Instead everyone shoved rainbows and puppy dogs up my back side.  Not a great way to do research, you know?

Research means balance, rainbows and puppy dogs are not balance.

Nice to see you are frequenting the sleeve forum. ;o)

 This is a site for information and SUPPORT.  If anyone wants to find out about various types of surgeries, the information is abundantly available by visiting the other forums.  However, for those who have already decided on the band, for whatever reason, and for those who already have it, they should have a "home" where they have positive support.  This is our home.

Support is not hiding truth, that's nothing short of mean.  Nobody is suggesting she not get a band, we are telling the truth about our experiences.  Honestly, I can't wrap my brain around hiding these things from people who haven't had surgery yet.  People should research their surgery type and doctor up until the minute they are put to sleep for surgery.

Hiding info is NOT support, it's CRUEL!
