NSV (sort of)

I just got back from a week long conference in Orlando.  I wanted to enjoy myself, but worried that I might gain weight.  My strategy was to eat my protein supplement for breakfast and lunch (when we just had short breaks from sessions) then have dinner out at a nice restaurant.  I got on the scale this morning and LOST three pounds.  I won't say that I didn't cheat because I did.  I had dessert twice but shared them with my hubby.  I am so pleased, because now I know that I CAN do this.

Beverly,

That's wonderful! You had a good strategy, you used it, you didn't suffer, you enjoyed your trip, and you came out lighter!

Thanks Jean.  I need to get your book, but I haven't had much time for reading lately.  My bariatric doc said no fruit, but they had the most wonderful fresh fruit laid out for between session snacks.  I guess that was cheating, but the fresh pineapple was divine.

No fruit allowed? I wonder why.

Anyway, "cheating" by eating some fresh pineapple isn't as naughty as cheating by eating cookies, ice cream, and potato chips!

I"m sure it's because of the carbs.  Fruit has lots of natural sugar.  It's a healthy carb, but a carb just the same.  Personally, I stick to berries, they have less carbs than other fruit.
