So I went to my Dr. on thursday and we decided that since my symptoms had subsided after my unfill that we would try to put some more fluid back in my band. As he was checking to see how much fluid was left in my band he said "thats funny...I though I had only left 2 mL in your band last time but apparently I left 4. Which was more than I could even get out of your band last time." I asked him why this happened and he said that his best guess was that my stomach was so swollen around my band that he couldn't get it all out. Kinda strange by exciting because now instead of having only 4 mls in ther which is what I would have had I now have a little over 5. The other bonus is I have lost 3lbs since THURSDAY!!!! Hopefully this did the trick and I will start losing again. I start back on soft foods today and then tomorrow I can attempt real food.

Sometimes the fluid stays in the tubing and won't all come out with the syringe. How do you explain your symptoms subsiding? You think you had too much fluid in your band and taking out half solved it ?

My symptoms subsided because after eating I has having extreme coughing fits and getting hiccups frequently. After the fluid was removed which he took out 2 mls originally the symptoms stopped even though I still had fluid in my band. I think I just had to much in my band and was causing the problems

That makes sense. My doc always takes all the fluid out to make sure there is no leak and then put it all back in.
