I'am down to just north of 200lbs.  Wearing L's and 36" comfort wranglers, yet I look in the mirror and see fat.  I wear my shirts out.   Has anyone else experienced this??

YES!  I've settled in the 195-200 range at 16 months out and still often see myself as obese.  I know in my consious mind that I am not, but I still "feel" that way.  Even to the point of doing double-takes in the mirror.

As far as wearing the shirt out, I have done that alot too.  My wife just recently bought me a couple of Tshirts that were WAY more "snug fitting" that I've EVER been comfortable with, but she wanted me to try them.  I wore one of them just yesterday for the first time tucked IN and I got so many compliments from folks.  "Have you lost more weight...", "You look nice today...", etc.

I was really uncomfortable because I all I could "see" was the material stretched across my stomach, lovehandles, and everything else that isn't there.  When, in actuality, it looked pretty nice...just felt "different".

It takes a little bit for the head to catch up to the body.  Had not had on pair of jeans for several weeks till today.  Was worried they would be too tight - NOT, but still thought it.  Go figure.

Hygienist at dentist office today commented that unless I had not told them about my RNY on my medical history questionnaire she would have never know I had been obese.  It has dawned on me recently that the people who see me now did not know me when I was a fat person.  One of the joys of moving to a new locale.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

It is no use saying "we are doing our best." You have got to succeed in doing what is necessary.

I am still fat! But I don't see myself any smaller than I was pre-surgery. Oh I wear pants 20 sizes smaller, and shirts that no longer have an 'X' in the size. But I just don't see myself as being smaller yet. Maybe that's good, in a way. It may keep me working on staying in line.

I still see fat too. I have lost over 200 lbs myself. Granted I still am fat at around 300 lbs. But considering what i started at and if you looksideways at me people cant't believe it is me.
I was hoping this feeling would go away, I have accomplished so much since surgery. I ahve climbed mountains, and I am back climbing trees for work. But i Still see the 522lb man in the mirror

"Body dysmorphia" is a common post-op problem, Lber ..

Over on TT, I've seen many helpful posts on how to fight it and win ..  One way is by taking and looking at a lot of pics of yourself, and compare them with your pre-op pics.    Have some taken of you standing by someone who you consider to be the same size as you (or thinner), and compare afterward.  You can also (as you have already started doing) go clothes shopping and try on all the clothes you can fit into now.

One neat little trick I thought of, based kinda on something I saw on a weight loss reality show, would be to go to a clothing store with a friend.   Stay out of the area while you have the friend pick out some pants and shirts that are your current size, as well as some identical articles in other sizes (larger and smaller).   Have the person lay all the similar style of clothes out on a table, rack, etc. and then invite you to come back to the area ..  Your job is to pick the one that you think is the closest to your current size, by pointing.  Chances are your friend will reveal that the clothes you picked out were larger (and probably much so) than your actual size!

Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "

Nope. I've lost over 210 lbs.  and I walk everyday and work out with weights  4 -5 days a week.   I don't see fat anymore, but I do see some loose skin in the middle area.  The mind's image is sometimes a tough thing to deal with , especially after years of being obese. I still saw myself as fat when I was around 210, which was my "target" weight. But now, at around 185 or so,  I've finally accepted that I have shed the fat. Heck, some folks even say I'm "too thin" now. I just have to keep working to add more lean muscle.

You have to allow yourself to see and enjoy your success, but just not get ****y or complacent about it.
