There's a hole in my sidewalk by Portia Nelson

Chapter One
I walk down the street
There's a deep hole in the sidewalk
I fall in
I'm lost. . . I'm helpless
It isn't my fault
It takes me forever to find a way out

Chapter 2
I walk down the same street
There's a deep hole in the sidewalk
I pretend I don't see it
I fall in again
I can't believe I'm in the same place
But it isn't my fault
It still takes a long time to get out

Chapter 3
I walk down the same street
There's a deep hole in the sidewalk
I see it there
I still fall in. . . it's a habit
My eyes are open
I know where I am
It is my fault
I get out immediately

Chapter 4
I walk down the same street
There's a deep hole in the sidewalk
I walk around it

Chapter 5
I walk down another street

Happy Hump Day..

Today I am grateful..

For a warm place to stay..

For food in my mouth..

For the air in my lungs..

For dinner with Sean and Debra..  BTW guys when a woman says she is thirsty it doesn't mean she wants a glass of water..  I know it is confusing but we have to learn things like that..

For being me..

Topic: RE: Bipolar???
Thanks for the information, and replying to my post!!!  I really appricate it!  (More than you know)  I want to tell my family, but I am scared as to what they will think!  I am thinking that I will do some more research this week, and maybe sit them all down and just tell them point blank,...  But just concerned that they are going to judge me!

In the past I was diagnosised with depression, to sever depression, to just anxiety, and now bipolar.  From everything that I have read, it looks like I have been bipolar for a long time, it was just mis-diagnosed.  We  maybe this is a good thing, and that now I know whats wrong, it can be fixed!!!

Thanks again,
Jessica

I am Bipolar - I am NOT a mild form - I have very severe cycling (the moving from manic to depressive stages on a frequent basis).
It took about 7 years to get an accurate diagnosis of my disorder. Bipolar is a chemical imbalance in the brain - it is nothing that is contagious, nothing that you "caught", nothing that you did wrong, etc. It can be treated with drugs.
I am on Effexor and Depakote and have been for about 6 months - and the drugs are working great.
The only thing I will add is that people w/ Bipolar tend to also have addictive personalities, and you need to keep that in mind after you have your RNY as if you have addictive personality and can no longer use food as an addictive substance, you may turn to some other things.

Topic: Bipolar???
Hello everybody!!!

My name is Jessica and I am a newbie!  :-)

I am scheduled to have an RNY at the end of December.  I have completed all my pre-opt testing, but today I had my last "bump" in the road.  I had a psyc meeting, and after spending almost 2 hours with the lady, she stated that I have a very mild form of Bipolar.

I am like in shock I guess you could say!  I always new that I had anxiety, but bipolar?  WOW.  I don't know what to think or feel, nor did she explain any more information.

She just told me to schedule another apt with her next week,  (But she did say that this should not keep me from having my surgery).

Is there anybody out there with bipolar disorder, and can give me some details, or more information 1st hand?

I have read a little bit online, and ordered a few books, but I am just concerned...

Thanks in advance!!!
Jessica

SONG OF THE WEEK..

KEEPER OF THE STARS BY TRACY BYRD

It was no accident me finding you
Someone had a hand in it
Long before we ever knew
Now I just can't believe you're in my life
Heaven's smilin' down on me
As I look at you tonight

I tip my hat to the keeper of the stars
He sure knew what he was doin'
When he joined these two hearts
I hold everything
When I hold you in my arms
I've got all I'll ever need
Thanks to the keeper of the stars

Soft moonlight on your face oh how you shine
It takes my breath away
Just to look into your eyes
I know I don't deserve a treasure like you
There really are no words
To show my gratitude

So I tip my hat to the keeper of the stars
He sure knew what he was doin'
When he joined these two hearts
I hold everything
When I hold you in my arms
I've got all I'll ever need
Thanks to the keeper of the stars

It was no accident me finding you
Someone had a hand in it
Long before we ever knew

Topic: Anyone taking lithium Post-op? with no 'weighty'problems?
Would really like to know those of you POST-Op that are on it. My damn symptoms are out of control so I am on lithium. I here you gain water weight as of the fact that it is like a "salt" pill; so to speak. Anyone post op, having 'no major' issues taking it?

Please respond, thank you.

Ramon,

Every now and again I will pop in here to see whats up. I always see  your "grateful posts", and will puruse them. Today, which was hectic, and stressful, made me feel defeated (just work and typical life stuff). So here I am, reading a few of your posts.
So, I wanted to let you know that I am grateful for your grateful posts. They put life in perspective, and make me smile. So as you are doing them for yourself, know that they are "doing" for others.

Thanks again, and best wishes on your journeys
Kathy
