I know exactly how you feel. For the longest time I was so depressed that I slept for days, and when I wasnt sleeping, I was on the couch laying down or crying for no appearent reason. Do u have a good friend to talk to? Have you tried writing your feelings in a journal? It helps me to get thoughts down on paper. Also you may just need one good cry.. There's nothing wrong with crying. Are you on antidepressants? Maybe u need a different one??

Just my two cents

Love always, Jennifer

I had my RNY gastric bypass surgery October 6th, so I am nearly 2 months out. Ever since I got home from the hospital, I have been in a deep dibilitating depression, filled with anxiety and obsessive negative thoughts. I have had a depression like this before, so I know what it is, but I don't know how to get out of it. I have seen my psychiatrist, and my counselor and we have adjusted my meds several times now trying to find something that works. Has anyone else experienced this? I am crying everyday, and I don't know what to do.. I can't take much more of this! Any advice would be welcomed!

I went into this surgery with ten years of sobriety and had done really well until earlier this year when life hit and I fell off the wagon.. I am currently trying to catch that wagon again but when I get close it speeds up.. Just keep me in your thoughts..

Hi,

There seems to be alot of folks coming out of their cocoon and admitting to having transfered from one addiction to another.  This is a growing trend and I was wondering if you all could discuss this and let us know what tools work.  Thanks

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

Trish,
Hang in there.  I always look for your posts.  You have my number and I believe my personal email - USE THEM.  I'm a good listener.  Don't worry about your slip, you realized it quickly and got back to doing the next right thing.

Prednisone is a no-no for me, yet, I need it when I have really bad asthma attacks.  What's better, going out of my mind or not being able to breathe?  Hmmmm.  I will have to ponder that one.

Good Morning Everyone,
I have been extremely busy, and really struggling lately.  I work two jobs, and barely get a chance to get on my computer some days.

I have been struggling with physical pain that is getting worse and worse, and my doc and I are working on it.  In the meantime, I drank a few nights over it.  I got right back to AA, and have been talking to my doctor about it since then.  He prescribed prednisone for the pain, which made me crazy, and I had to go off of that.  My psychiatrist says that bipolar patients should not take prednisone.  It was horrible how I reacted.

So, doc and I are working on the pain management.  I still go to my AA meetings.  I have a terrific sponsor.  I am working my program to the best of my ability.

Hugs,
Trish

Good Morning OH'ers.. IT'S FRIDAY! !

Today I am grateful..

For wonderful people in my life..

For knowing that once you hit rock bottom there is no place to go but up so strap on your wings and fly..

For Stromboli.. No matter how mad I am he can make me laugh..

That I was not one of the people shopping early this morning..

For the love of a great woman.. I am very blessed to have Debra in my life..

SONG OF THE WEEK..

"SIMPLE MAN BY LYNARD SKYNARD

Mama told me when I was young
Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say.
And if you do this
It'll help you some sunny day.
Oh, take your time... Don't live too fast,
Troubles will come and they will pass.
Go find a woman, oh baby, you'll find love,
And don't forget son,
There is someone up above.

(Chorus)
And be a simple kind of man.
Be something you love and understand.
Baby be a simple, kind of man.
Oh, won't you do this for me son,
If you can?

Forget your lust for the rich man's gold
All that you need, is in your soul,
And you can do this, oh baby, if you try.
All that I want for you my son,
Is to be satisfied.

(Chorus)

Boy, don't you worry... you'll find yourself.
Follow your heart, lord, and nothing else.
And you can do this, oh baby, if you try.
All that I want for you my son,
Is to be satisfied

Topic: RE: candy...
I am sorry to hear you are struggling with the candy.  I struggle as well.  I was already eating disordered long before I had my surgery.  I binged, grazed, puked, did it all at one point or another.  I benefited from some years in OA, in addition to my AA attendance.

Are you in therapy?  I suggest it.  I did oupatient eating disorder treatment twice before my surgery.  I am thinking of trying it again this coming summer.  I am getting desperate.

Hugs,
Trish
