Hi Mark:

I have started the screening for this study.  Can you give me an update on how you are doing?  Recovery?  What did they tell you to expect for weight loss?

Looking / thinking about the big number is discouraging to me. I try to just end each week 1, 2 or 3 pounds lighter. That really helps me.

I started by fallowing Atkin's. Now I am trying to be low carb. I would like to get to 200lbs but that seems to be such a long way off. I think I should shoot for loosing another 10lbs at a time. I am at around 230lbs right now.

I also need to increase my physical activity. I have been lacking in that department!

Thank you ladies for the replies!

Congrats TJ on your 50 weight loss! How did you get started? It sounds like you have been doing the right things so far! What is your next weight loss goal?

I also hate that this section is so slow. I've been on my state section where things are little more active. Let us know what you are doing now and maybe we can give you more specific advice on getting to your next goal.

Hi,

It’s great to see a new face! I wish more people would find this forum. Unfortunately it’s not very active.

I also opted out of surgery, and am happy to say have done pretty well without it.

Good luck on your continued journey.

This is a happy find for me as I made the decision to opt out of surgery but still come here frequently for inspiration! Now I have a forum that I belong to! I have lost 50lbs so far and am still trying to loose more but have come to a stand still. I figure if I can even work towards not gaining it back that is a victory as well. Thanks for this forum!

Topic: RE: How to loose weight while trying to have a baby
I tried and did lose weight while TTC with my little girl. It took me a good 11 months of trying before it happened. During the 1.5 years of losing the weight I lost about 55 pounds before I got pregnant. I sometimes wonder if the constant weight loss while TTC had anything to do with it taking about a year to get pregnant. I'm just not sure what effect current WL has on fertility. I have PCOS and I do know that made it a bit harder and probably caused more of the issue than the weight loss.

My weight loss plan was very simple. I went from 285 to about 235. During that time I stuck to 1,500 calories a day and tried to workout when I could, but honestly I didn't do much working out when If first started. Basically I tried to eat the same foods but much LESS of it. Maybe try cutting back on your calories by 10% and see if that gets you a result of 10-15 pounds. As we all know... even 10-15 pounds can be a big help when starting off pregnant!! Good luck and I hope you are blessed with a second baby very soon!

HI! So I am on my 7th day of the first cycle of this plan and I had  a question... I wake up at night and before the plan I would snack on sweets which was a large contribution to weight gain but I still have been waking up at night on the plan but I have just been having a few slices of turkey i put in the fridge...since turkey is allowed on the plan is that ok or do I have to start the first cycle over again with no eating at night at all?
Thanks!
