Well I really haven't done, much... I just have been really sleepy and slept alot, I don't eat if I am not hungry and if I feel like I want to eat for no reason I have a glass of water.
I don't excercise, cause right now everytime I move I am in so much pain, When i sit my rear end hurts, i used to have a huge butt... for some reasome certian areas of my body seem to be smaller and when i sit and lay down they hurt. and when i walk and stand my back feels very weak. so the only exercise I get right now its going and lazily kicking around the pool with my daughter and husband. Other than that I lay on the couch and in my bed cause it hurts to go up and down stairs and move.
Recently I went to the doctor and they said i had a PH balance problem in my stomach preventing me to diguest food, medication and it would sit there and rott, so now I have to be careful when I eat and what I eat. So I just am very picky what I eat... lots of greans very little dairy and mostly soys. No sugars at all in the house cause my daughters a 4 yr old diabetic... and its not fair and kinda tiring to explain things daily why she cant have this and that.

If you are researching WLS and have found OH and are reading the forums you will see many different opinions and facts. It is good that you found this site as there is comprehensive information from OH to be read on all the surgeries.
There are discussion forums as well with members posting their experiences too. It's important to read the forums because often clinics are very busy and cannot always give you the guidance you need for things like vitamins and even food plans and hair loss, protein powders, recipes, exercise, complications ect.. this site has allot of people who know what they are posting about.
It would seem ridiculous that a clinic could not take the time to print a excellent pre and post op booklet and provide proper follow thru, but some don't... I don't know if it's due to the patient population demographics, the clinic or a combination of both, but it happens allot. It's not a perfect words. Surgeons are not gods. OH has helped me allot.
There are currently four types of WLS being offered.
1. the lap band
2. RnY ( regular gastric bypass and the Fobi pouch type)
3. DS
4. The sleeve
Hopefully if you are seriously considering any surgery you know all your options, and can discuss with a DR. which would be best for your particular situation, BUT you have to be your own advocate because most DR's will not refer or even tell you about a surgery they do not perform themselves. I strongly advocate learning to think for yourself and not just following the herd for whatever reason....
Now that today I am officially six months out from my RNY( that I had no surgery related complications from) I'm looking back and thinking ahead.
I have lost 71 LBS exactly from my date of surgery. I am a mature adult, but I don't need to reveal my age as I don't believe in ageism either.
I'm now eating well and averaging 800 to 900 protein packed calories a day. So far I have had no dumping, foamies, no food intolerance's based on not advancing my meal plan too quickly, or pain that is surgery related. Now of course someone will think ( and sorry for you about that!) ' o just you wait ***** i can't wait to see you post that you have a ulcer or some such problem, you think your perfect or something snowflake'? O PU~LEEZE -I won't even go there. You can be sure if anything happens good or bad I feel i NEED to post I will. Next....
Anyway, back to the RAW food propaganda..... prior to considering WLS I had gone raw for three years, and was planning on making this my permanent lifestyle as it really worked for me. I am not lying or embellishing when I say that at SIX months after I went raw I was down 85 pounds and that was only back in 2007. It is a life style choice not just a diet, just as in successful weight loss surgery loss and maintenance you must commit to a life style change.
I ate sooo much, and raw food is not all salads and no protein nor is it all cold. A proper balanced raw food diet ( and believe me there is much debate and bickering about this in the community as well, but mostly by newbies and cultists) is protein packed, nutrient dense, filled with healthy satisfying GOOD fats and of course it is VEGAN; however I used to occasionally lick red ants off a log, but... Many people do progress from being vegetarians to vegans then to raw and back and forth and so on and so forth...
There are also many people who have lost huge amounts of weight, or helped others lose, becoming and staying raw. Shazzie, Angela Stokes, Alissa Cohen, as well as many many members of raw food forums and blogs.
If you feel you have it in you one more time before you take such a drastic step as surgery that has many far reaching and still unknown long term effects on your life I strongly urge you to consider a raw food 'diet' it worked for me three years ( and i won't go into WHY I stopped) I was healthy and satisfied with delicious food. I never counted calories carbs or a gram of fat. I did keep an eye on the protein and b12.
I ate desserts for breakfast, pie cake ice cream, salads, fruits, smoothies, main courses, everything. The raw food diet I made for myself included allot of raw nuts, seeds, vegetables, fruit, and vegan protein sources and super foods. It was a high good fat plan, NOT a Dr. Graham low fat 80/10/10 diet... uggg no way!
I was 100 percent raw 85 percent of the time I would say, with occasional cheat days of cooked nutritious vegan food. Like I said I lost 85 pounds in 6 months, and kept it off three years- more weight then i have lost in the same amount of time with RNY.
If you are really motivated to lose weight on your own before surgery the raw food "diet" was tied for SECOND place with Jenny Craig, and behind WW in a recent Yahoo front page best weight loss diets article. To just label it a diet is doing it a vast dis service however because it is far more complex then a diet. It's about healthy eating and changing the way you view food and making a lifestyle change. Maybe some may have read that, I think someone posted about it here.
Just as in how much effort people take to educate themselves about WLS you also have to figure out your own raw food plan and not just listen to the first idiot you run across. There are many good raw foods role models out there. i have named but a few and will provide good links to easily find them.
Ok, I'll share- here is the person upon who's principles I based my diet on. His name is David Wolfe. This is a very very good interview which clears up allot of misconceptions.

My long weekend is going great so far. We went out to lunch and I did really well with that. Then we drove around town a little bit to check out this park/common use area that I wanted to find. I also found the nature trail at the park. It's a bit of a drive from my house tho. If I have friends that want to do a stroller push walk, at least I'll know where the place is now.
Then we drove over to a university (we live in a univ town) recreational facility. The univ is putting in a big beach area at this little lake. It open next month and I wanted to show hubby the place. I'm super excited about it! It's free and open to the public. I plan to schedule several beach play dates out there!!

First off CONGRATS to YOU for losing 58 pounds in about six months!!
Give yourself a big pat on the back for that!
Can I ask you to tell us a little bit about what you did to lose those 58 pounds? Were you on a program, etc?
To answer your question- Just keep doing what you are doing PLUS add more intensity to the program you are following or have created for yourself.
For example, continue to eat healthy foods but cut back a little bit more. Not a ton but just a little. Try cutting out a extra 100 calories per day for example.
Are you working out at this stage? I know that when I started out at 285 pounds I could not workout. I was just too big and out of shape. I had to lose a few pounds before I could walk down the street. If you are working out then UP your program. Try and go an extra 10 minutes per day of exercise.
The point I'm making is that you are WAY smaller now than you were last year. Your body loves that you are putting it into a healthier phase, but you must increase your intensity now. Say you were walking 15 minutes per day last year. Back then you were burning lots more calories. Now that you are smaller you will not burn the same amount of calories by walking the same 15 minutes. Also, your body will require less food intake the smaller you get. That's why cutting just a little bit of your food intake will keep your body in the weight loss mode.
The last thing and really important thing I would suggest is keep a support network around you. Call a friend and be totally honest about your process. Put someone in your life that you can get these feeling out of your head. If you don't have someone IRL keep using these online forums because WE ALL GET IT!

my 4th plans include food(not to much - god i love burgers) and the neighbors, swimming and watching the kids play at the base pool, maryland weather is so hot! but its going to be nice!

Topic: Best feeling ever
Since 12/22/10 till today 07/01/11 i have lost 58 lbs. Last night i noticed my only pair of shorts were falling off anytime i moved i was lossing weight, but i thought it was 4lbs here and there. But I weight in this morning and since my last weight in on 06/20/11 i was 312 i weighed 297 this morning. So I guess my platue is over? None of my normal clothes fit so I went to things my friends who are smaller gave me and shockingly enough some of the things fit.
How do I keep this up? I am 102lbs away from my goal.

yay June is almost over! My husband is in a training program and the 'year' starts July 1st and ends the following June 30th. Today is his last day of the second year of training. He has three more years to go after today! Woot! We are getting there.
It seems I was holding onto some WW from my DC trip. All four pounds have dropped off by today and one extra for good measure.
I ordered one of Bob Greene's older books Make The Connection and started reading that the past week. It talks a lot about emotional eating... the issue I such a problem with. WOW... it's very intense. I might start up a blog on here to talk through the issues he strongly suggests that people like me do.
