The thing is Skylar, I have NEVER been a good runner! as a child I was overweight too, and I used to play softball and was the worst runner on the team (but the best hitter, always been big and strong!)  this is a whole NEW experience for me, and yes it does make me feel free, it's really neat!

I tried a new pool class at the Y on Friday....Stretch N Tone.  It's a combination of yoga and pilates in the water and I loved it!!  Yesterday had my granddaughter's dance recital and had company for dinner (another WW buddy, so it was all legal)

Feeling really hungry today for some reason, but filling up mostly on leftover veggies....hoping for a good weigh-in tomorrow at WW!!

Yesterday (on Sat) I got up and went to the gym, though I normally take
Saturdays and Sundays off, I missed Thursday last week so I figured I'd make up for it, anyhow I went and had a great workout, I am up to 8 min. of running without stopping and my next goal is the full 10 min. without stopping, I think I will hit hat  soon, its so cool I actually enjoy running now, A lot! who knew!?

I'm sure Ruth is still busy recovering from her fantastic plane trip home to visit family so I thought I'd start the feeling proud post today.

I titled it for Friday and today LOL because on Friday I was really feeling lazy, had a long nap during the day which I shouldn't have had (it left me feeling dull and stupid, not refreshed) and the last thing I wanted to do was walk 5 miles. But I went to the mall and walked - yes, it was a slower more leisurely walk, but a 5 mile walk none-the-less. So I'm proud that I did my walk.

Today I'm back doing some deep spring cleaning in the house - today I'm tackling washing the kitchen cabinets and walls. My stove is gleaming - it's so shiny and looks brand new so DH decided that rather than use the stove to cook supper that he would go out and pick up Chipotle's for dinner tonight which is a nice treat.

What are you doing this weekend? Anything exciting - well almost anything is more exciting than my spring cleaning. LOL

take care everyone.

I'm kind of on the fence about this one.  My very best friend is/was about as overweight as I am.  She is however, one of these people who can make up her mind to do something and nothing stops her!  She joined WW 1/16/10 and has lost  56lb so far....just has never strayed from the program and exercises like crazy.  We have done diets together in the past and seeing her be so dedicated really inspired me.  I swore I would never join WW again, but seeing her be so successful has motivated me once again.  I'm not able to exercise like she does, and get led astray more easily  , but the determination is there this time and I really see myself incorporating a lot of healthy changes in my life.  Of course, I started three months after she did but it helps that we're both doing it together and can be supportive of one another as the four of us (hubbies included) go out to eat about once/week.

I also started paying for WW for my daughter, who has about 50lb to lose.  She says that feeling that obligation to me to succeed has really inspired her and we are a great support system for one another.  She was really a couch potato and is now walking a 5K about 5 days/week.

For me....I think it truly helps to have that support and a little bit of competition to boot.  I'm a very competitive person and while I may not lose as quickly as some, it really helps to keep me motivated.

Congratulations Ruth....you did it!!!!

Between the whole fear of flying and piloting a plane and then being unrecognizable by family and friends...you should have brought a film crew and made your own production out of it all.  You are an inspiration!

The world just became a much smaller place, huh?  Have fun planning your trips to see it all.

Oh, if only I could walk!  Bone on bone on my right knee and need to get this weight off before my doc will do a total knee replacement.  Water aerobics and bike is about it for me.

Ooooh Peachpie - what a great post. Shedding weight really isn't a good team sport for me either.

I'm wondering if your sister is so gung ho because she is starting the diet and it's new and fresh and she is excited about it - in a short while maybe she will tire of talking about it all the time? Tough spot for you - maybe you can discuss your feelings about this with her? (((HUGS)))
