Hi Wendy, I'm in shock at how much you have lost -  that's amazing. And you're a Zumba instructor - absolutely fantastic. Clearly you've had a major transformation and you're hitting that same spot that I am so I'm glad that this post has helped you to. I have to be honest, when I posted I had no idea how much the responses were going to really change my feelings completely around and be an education about the process too.

I'm impressed that you had the guts to wear a tank top and show your upper arms. Mine are really bad - looks like yours and I am so embarrassed with them even when hidden in clothes because you can't really hide them completely. But I find when I move my arms around the hanging skin part flaps around and sometimes it hurts as it hits my body. My arms and my panni are the two areas that bother me most. My breasts are lower on the list because once I have them folded into a bra they look okay, not great, but okay.

I hope you stick around and post regularly, I'd love to hear how things are going for you.

LOL Mary - oh boy, I never realized how important these details are and I guess the good plastic surgeons are very careful about the order and how they approach us. LOL "It won't work that way" okay, I've decided to go in and keep my mouth shut about the order I "want" things done - I will ask what he thinks works best for healing and success.

I also hadn't realized that all this fat and huge breast tissue while I was obese may have wrecked my posture - but I have been having problems - so I'm curious as to whether the surgeons will say anything about it. I'll post back and let you know.

I hope when I'm done I look half as good as you and Ruth.

Thanks Ruth - you're right - I was afraid of messing with my internal organs and the possible permanent complications that some people suffer after WLS. But Plastics is a good thing because it will eliminate those hang downs where you can get infections etc. so yes, you're right. Plastics is a good thing. Although I do regret that I let myself get so obese that I need to have plastics - but what is done is done. I'm just so thankful that I can afford to fix this mess I made for myself.

I'm starting to get excited about this now and also scared about the pain etc. I will definitely let you know about the consultations and before and after pictures. I have to say that I have been so thankful to be able to watch you and others going through the process and showing your pictures throughout the process so I know what to expect. - as you said Ruth, to pay it forward.

Thanks

It is funny how I still mentally struggle with exercise.....I pretty much hate it but always feel so much better on the days I do it.  Wonder if I will ever get over this......

Hi!
The oatmeal pancakes were truly fabulous!

So glad you mentioned that Target has Spanx....I want a pair for under my newest pair of white pants...they are so thin I feel naked, so I want the long ones just to help me feel more modest.  Modest, there's a word you don't hear often....LOL!

I didn't get in the pool yesterday but I'm sure I will tomorrow because I have lots of yard work planned and I'll be hot and sticky..

Hi Ruth - oatmeal pancakes - sounds yummy. Oh boy, I used to do water aerobics many years ago - I took a class when the kids had their swimming lessons - it was a really good workout And I see Sherrie is also doing aerobics -  hummmm, I think I'll stick to my walking, I don't look too good in a bathing suit - don't want to hurt anyone's eyesight permanently LOL.

That's interestings insight on your part Ruth - to realize the irony of a couch potato stuffing their face while watching The Biggest Losers LOL. Personally I never watched the show - probably because it made me feel guilty that I was a sloth.

I'm proud, well really I'm more happy than proud that I found out Target has spanx type body slimmers combined with panty hose so I can wear that under this business suit that I need to wear. This body needs a lot of spanx to hold it all together LOL.

Yes, definitely a fan of the Biggest Loser!  I will be watching the finale tonight.  I'm ashamed to admit I used to sit there and watch the show while munching on....whatever!

Proud today that I made it back to my water aerobics class.  Was sick all last week and had out of state company the week before....hopefully back in the groove.  It's just getting there that's the problem....I love the class and feel so good afterwards.  Funny how exercise is like that.

Hello and good morning.  Hope everyone is doing and feeling well.

Is tonight the Biggest Loser finals?  Does anyone watch that show?  I used to watch it when it first started....I'd be sitting in my big comfy chair and think there is something wrong here.  I'm watching a show that is all about exercising to lose to weight but I'm sitting on my big fat rump......after a few months I decided to watch it while on the treadmill or stationary bike.

I got up early (not quite as early as I wanted to) and took myself and Buddy for a nice 3.25 cardio walk.  I did not run today....my running coach told me to do it every other day as I'm a beginner.  Probably a good idea due to the swelling too... which did not get crazy after yesterdays run.  Maybe I shook something loose and it will get better now....HAHAHA....wishfull thinking.

I'm going to try to get in the pool later today to do some water aerobics and water weights.

I'm celebrating my "focus".  I'm so glad I have not lost my focus about making good/healthy food decisions each day, each meal.  I'm off to go make oatmeal pancakes now.

How about you guys??  Anyone want to share???

Have a great day!

Hi Ruth, I'm still exhausted from this 3 day concert - yesterday was another 8 hours and we didn't get home until after 1 pm. What made it even worse was DH and I both had to get up early for a meeting so I didn't even get to sleep in a little. I'm so sleepy that I'm heading to bed early.

But I am proud that even though I was exhausted I still went to the mall for my brisk 5 mile walk today before coming home to make dinner.

Wogging - Way to go grrl. You are doing so well with your recovery, I'm very impressed.

I will say that when we used to walk in the mall before I began the McDougall diet, I sometimes used to stop to eat in the food court afterwards as a reward for the exercise I did - and LOL I was barely doing a mile slowly and taking a couple of sitting breaks along the way - so clearly I wasn't burning a lot of calories or getting much aerobic exercise either. But the funny thing was I was probably eating more calories in the food court than I burned on my "exercise walk". Evil Food Court. LOL, especially the ice cream.

Topic: Reality Check

I spent most of yesterday examining what I've eaten over the past 3 weeks (because I've gone up .2, .4 and .2 each week and I don't know why). I found that some of the foods I eat every day (like my whey protein) have had formula changes and the calories went up....in the world of Weigh****chers this means it's no longer 2 pts but 3!!!  PLUS, when I put my oatmeal mix in as a "meal" it came up as 6 pts instead of 4! Lastly my new daily afternoon snack of PB on a lite wasa cracker which I normally count as 2 pts when I do it as a meal comes to 3!

Sooooooo .....talk about a reality check for me.

The lesson I learned............it is good to once in a while re-check the labels of the things we eat often to be sure we are accurately tracking.
