Topic: RE: Excess skin after weight loss

I too have been using the It Works Ultimate Body Applicators - I had WLS in December of 2004 and went from 320 to 140.  I have lots of loose skin so much so that I purposefully gained weight in an effort to kind of fill it in a bit, So I went up to about 170.  This helped me look and feel better about my appearance.  Then recently I found the It Works body wraps.  I wish I had had them when I started my journey.  They are helping me, I cannot say with 100% certainty that they will help shrink the skin on every person who uses them.  If you would like more info or to see my pictures contact me [email protected]  my website is www.itworksbydebra.myitworks.com

A baby is great motivation! My two were a huge motivation for me. I didn't want them to have to be the next generation of fat people in my family. I was always obese...as we're my folks and siblings. My top weight, when pregnant with my soon-to-be 8 year old was 300lbs. I lost a bunch, got pregnant again, gained a lot of it back then got down to business. My son is 5. I was around 270 when he was born and am 140 today.

You can do this. Don't change everything in a day.make consistent healthier choices. For my .02 it paid off to never aim to lose 5lbs a week nor to follow some diet that I knew I couldn't maintain forever. Get moving. Teach your child by example how to be thr healthiest boy he can be. Be that momma out playing tag with the kis or taking them on a bike ride. Slow, steady and consistent win this race.

Feel free to drop me a line. I am glad to root you on!

Topic: Getting motivated
I had a baby 5 months ago what better motivation to lose weight can there be? To be healthy and active for my baby is what I want but unfortunately I'm having a bit of trouble with that. I'm 29 yrs old 5'6 and currently 276lbs, which actually is a lot better than where I was before. At my heaviest i weighed 333lbs. and the motivations of trying to have a baby without fertility treatment helped me get down to 262 at one point before my pregnancy. I've been overweight all my life I know how hard it is to lose weight, lack of sleep and exhaustion aren't a great motivating factor either. My husbands great he's never made me feel bad about myself and puts up with my emotional roller coaster of insecurities that I've been on since I had our perfect baby boy. I worry that my insecurities will eventually drive a wedge between us but try and stay in faith that he will love me though anything. Any tips advice or motivating words that anyone could share would greatly be appreciated. I've looked into WLS but have too many doubts about it so feel like that might not be the right step for me yet.

I don't know if you are looking at this or not. But I thought I would post for others. One "trick" I have used is volumetrics....check it out.

Anything is possible...however not everything is sustainable. I don't think I could maintain 800 calories for very long.

For appetite I can offer, turn to lots and lots of veggies....that is about the only way you will get to feel full on 800 a day. When I need to stress eat I turn to spinach, broccoli, lettuce....

Would it be realistic for someone who hasn't had WLS to eat the same amount of protein and calories as someone who has had WLS?

albeit very difficult because of appetite, would it be possible? Could you see the same results?

Curious if anyone has tried it. ( we all have "things" we have tried to lose weight")

Topic: RE: Has anyone lost over 100 lbs and kept it off? Would love to learn..
Yep, I have! Started with your same stats. If you go to like page 3 there is a post by me called "my stq"...serious typo but my whole story is there. In a nutshell:

*7 year journey (including 1 pregnancy with 60lb regain)

*never lost more than 4 lbs a week, that only happened a few times

*i kept track of every morsel I put in my mouth and used the BodyBugg system for the last 70lbs

*I have several foods I treat like drugs...I cannot eat even a bite...

*I started at walking 30 mins a day with a 3mph pace killing me. I now run 5 miles in 45 minutes daily

*consistency is the only thing that has worked for me. I am consistent in my diet and activity...always! You can't stop!!

It can be done but it is a long journey with no "honeymoon" period. The last 3 years, at a normal body weight, have been the best! I have totally changed my habits...instead of sending the kids out to play I am out there initiating tag, football, sprint races...I am no longer on the sidelines and my children are learning to love physical activity.

Good luck in your decision!! I would look at what happens when you start to regain...?? Life events??

Hi all,

I am presently contemplating weight loss surgery but I thought I would just reach out and see if anyone out there has a lost a great deal of weight and managed to keep it off. I am 5'3 and weigh 303 lbs and need to lose over 150 lbs. I have been on a countless number of diets and have lost 100 lbs at least 4 times, only to gain it back. I feel defeated and that perhaps I need to be realistic and consider another option-wls. Just curious about what some of you are doing to lose the weight and keep it off. Would love to hear your story.
