 Hi Deb!

Sounds like you are on board with getting healthy and that is great.  Congrats on dropping a med and hope you continue to do well without it.  I am going to start using the web site tool called fitness pal.  It lets you set a goal and keeps you honest and does all the hard work of calculating right on line.  Now that the weather has cooled off somewhat exercise outdoors might be possible.  Good luck.  Nancy

Hi friends, I have been doing fairly well the past 5 days or so. Managing to stay mostly on track with low carb and feeling much better for it. My blood sugars are OK since stopping the one drug Victoza. I was worried about stopping it because it's kind of an appetite suppressor. But the headaches and IBS symptoms have disappeared. Thank goodness. I am still practicing mindful eating and keeping ready to eat healthy choices stocked is a must. My goal is to add some exercise this week! Hope you are all doing well! What are your plans for the week?

Good for you for being off one of your diabetes medications! That is great...and what a perfect motivator to watch what you are eating.

Meal planning and sticking to it are the goals for the weekend for me. It helps that I am tracking everything over on MyFitnessPal (even my gum...all 5 calories per piece!).

Hello friends. Another long hot weekend ahead. Still find weekends most challenging but I have had a couple of really good days! Since coming off of the 1 diabetes med I have had to really pay attention to what I put in my mouth. I am practicing mindful eating now. I ask myself if what I am eating will spike my blood sugar before I take a bite. My meal planning has improved over the past couple of days. Trying to keep healthy choices stocked and ready to eat! My goal for the weekend is to keep doing what I have been doing. How are you all doing? Any special plans or goals for the weekend? Deb

Sorry I'm late checking in...it was a busy day with the funeral and reception. And I made it to "class" at WMC Ottawa at 5:00.

HW (July 2011) = 240
CW = 186

Waist has gone down from 48" to 40.5"

Now on to 2 optifast and 2 real meals for the next 2 weeks!

 i hear ya! i was taken off an ADD/ADHD drug by one doc even though he was not the original perscriber, and gained 20lbs back. It didnt increase my appetite, instead it made me SOOOO tired that all i could do was get up to go to work, then it threw me into a massive depression (im bi-polar) and i stopped going to the gym all together. THAT increases my appetite! 

You can do it dear! I have faith in you!
