Topic: Monday check - in
Hello friends, another weekend has passed and it's really clear to me that my goal for this week needs to be meal planning and food tracking. Hubby and I had way too much fun this past weekend! We accepted too many invites out for drinks and meals and over indulged in both alcohol and food. We are both paying the price today. Being in social situations is a bit of a challenge when trying to make healthy choices.
I will be seeing my NP tomorrow, have to let her know about the migraine and get some other test results bk. My weight will be checked too. I think I am going to start a Wed Hump day weigh in thread. Hope others will participate! How was your past weekend? Any challenges and successes to share?

You have some really good goals to work towards Deb and Tammy!!
I am working night's Friday and Saturday and find I eat better when I am working as I bring my food to work and I am on a schedule. I always drink lots of water as it is very dry. I will try to journal my food intake as well. Another goal I could work towards is if there are any goodies hanging around at work that I stay away from them.
Have a good weekend everyone!!

Good stuff Tammy! Planning menu ahead is a good idea! I usually plan it in my head, but I think writing it out might hold me more accountable. My hubby is a terrible cook! His specialties are micro wave beans and wieners or boiled peroggies. Double Yuck! He also is totally opposite of me he is under weight almost 6 ft and 130 lbs soaking wet. Also has a real sweet tooth. And often sabotages me. But he is terrified of my having WLS. So he has been way more supportive lately! Have a great weekend!

Those are good goals.
I have to start doing my food journal this week since I can have real food starting today.
In the past, I have found it helps to have your weekly menu planned first - makes it easier to journal and stick to...especially on weekends when hubby is around. This way, hubby isn't asking "what's for supper?" It's in plain view on the fridge...and may he may even prepare a meal or two...

Good morning all! I thought it would be good to set some Pre-weekend goals for myself, now that I am feeling a bit better.
1. Increase my water intake
2. Try to go for a walk or bike ride now that it is slightly cooler
3. Increase my protien and veggies. Avoid the processed stuff
4. Don't starve myself because hunger = unplanned choices
5. Food journal. (hate this one)
Please share some of the goals/plans you have for this weekend, updates or tips for staying on track this weekend. I always find weekends most challenging because hubby is home and we are out more.

Your progress is great Tammy! Your doing really well! You must be looking forward to chewing again. Are you anxious about eating food again? Looks like they tell what and how much. You still going for weekly classes?

Glad you got rid of the migraine hangover. Good luck at your doctor appointment. Hopefully your migraine was a one-off and does not become a regular event.
Thanks for noticing my progress. Today is my last day of 4 optifast per day. We reintroduce food tomorrow...3 optifast, 1 cup of veggies, 3 oz protein and 1 serving of fruit. It will be nice to chew again.

Thank you all for your well wishes! That was my very first migraine in over 20 years. So not on a regular med. My Dr us on holidays will see on 31. Big hangover today I am really dopey! Past noon and just having some coffee and a diabetic boost for now. Hope you all have a good week. Keep up the good work. Tammy looks like you are doing amazing!
Topic: RE: starting low carb...
I have just recently moved away from all grains, even whole grains, as I know this does work best for me too, but I am not giving up the fruit, just cutting back on it a little, and no refined sugar for me! Hope all goes well for you!
