Anyone know of any good Erotic Books?
You may have already read some of these, but here are some of my favorite reads (caution, they're heavy on the kink and BDSM):
The Beauty trilogy by A. N. Roquelaure, aka Anne Rice
Exit to Eden by Anne Rice (NOTHING like the movie!)
The Marketplace series by Laura Antoniou
Surgery: RNY on 12/18/2013 with Jay M. Snow, MD "Don't mistake my kindness for weakness." - Robert Herjavec, quoting Al Capone

At least you didn't say 50 shades ;). I may just have started a war...
Not sure if I would throw most of Carey's work into the erotic category since they are so heavy. It's so good though!
Have you read anything by Kresley Cole? I love her sense of humour. I find her work varies in plot to erotic ratio depending on the characters, there's only been one I really haven't enjoyed though...

I read one by Kresley Cole ("Hunger Like No Other" I think) when I found it shelved with the "vanilla" paranormal romance at the local bookstore. Seriously pissed me off because the guy spends almost the ENTIRE thing pressuring the woman to have sex with him, and the author kept trying to play off these non-consensual "oh lookit that, you just rubbed yourself up against me accidentally OOPS!" scenes as sexy. NO, you idiot, that's assault and not romantic or erotic in the SLIGHTEST!
I have nothing against a good smutty book now and again, but I suspect I just need to find a different author ;)

Yes, some are more like that than others. Especially the first few. I feel like a lot of it is point of view based. From his side it's "I'll rub up against you, and since you seem to like it, I'll keep going", then she might punch him in the face. So whilst in real life it would be called abuse (even/especially in bdsm), in a book it's just fiction(/fantasy).
I think most 'erotic' novels I've read are like this (as well as non-erotic 'romance' books), usually without the face punching or snarky retorts from the girls in response, so it's a refreshing change for me.
From everything I'd heard about 50 Shades, I would have found it laughable. I haven't read Kresley Cole, I may try something by her and see how it goes.
Hmm, paranormal romance series I've enjoyed:
Larissa Ione's Demonica series
J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series
Laurann Dohner's New Species series

The writing in 50 Shades is sophomoric at best. Just because you're reading erotica doesn't mean you don't want your mind stimulated with something we'll written.
It depends on your style. I really like Laurell K. Hamilton. Ann Rice has some erotica under the pen name A. N. Roquelaure. Erotic, but definitely not for the faint of heart and not everyone's cup of tea. The Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon are pretty steamy too, and alot more mainstream than Ann Rice. Have fun!
Tried browsing Goodreads for some good Erotic Book recommendations. Need some stimulating reading.
