It's hard to come to grips with the horrible crimes that Dahmer committed. If you watch interviews with him before he was killed, his face never registers any expression.

I think The BTK Killer, Dennis Rader, was one of the most awful people who ever lived. He really seemed to enjoy the attention he received after he was caught. No remorse, either.
Jeffrey Dahmer is another one who freaks me out. A year or so before he was caught, I had been across the street from that apartment complex where he lived. It's so strange to think he could appear so "normal" while doing such heinous things.
Ed Gein... my mom's friend worked at the mental hospital where he spent a lot of his years after sentencing. She claimed he was such a nice, little man, odd, but seemingly harmless. THAT'S the scary part. These people appear so average, meanwhile, they're out making lampshades out of people's skin! Holy **** that's some scary bull****

About 10 years ago I took a forensic social work class that focused solely on offender populations and - you guessed it! - serial killers. We watched all kinds of documentaries on them and even had to do a report on one. I chose Aileen Wuornos - immortalized by Charlize Theron in "Monster". I started having nightmares about this **** and was really, really glad when the semester was over.

Yes most of them have hig IQ's and are white. There is one that I know of that was black.
Ted Bundy is in the serial killer hall of fame. Incredibly charming and intelligent, attractive and trustworthy, he killed a lot of young women and escaped capture for many years. I know Bundy drove a VW bug. It was one of the things they finally used to catch him.

I have read a lot of books on this subject and it seems a lot of them have VW vans. I am not sure who my favorite is. Ted Bundy was one of the few who could use his charms and looks.
