That's awesome! Do you just grow in the greenhouse or do you remove it during the summer and let them grow out in the open? I wish I lived in a warmer climate so I could grow year round. Even in OK I imagine you could grow in a green house or high tunnel year round.
I take my herbs in during the winter months but I can't grow anything beyond that and regular house plants in the winter.

I've lived here 30+ years and go out all year round. It's perfectly pleasant in June, July and August. I've never heard anyone complain of your blatant over exaggeration of heat and humidity being an issue in Houston.

Heat and humidity. Heat and humidity. Heat and humidity. Heat and humidity. Plus there just isn't much natural beauty around Houston to enjoy anyways. I've never been anywhere that 50 degrees actually feels worse than 25 because of humidity.
As per norm you are dead effin wrong, we all know :)

The Woodlands is an okay area. It's become commercialized, materialistic and over crowded; however, it is in Houston and is therefore not a great place to have a decent quality of life. Sure, you can have a huge house for cheap, cheap, cheap but you can only stand to be outside for a few months of the year.

We do love the Expat life except not having our dog with us and travelling between 3 countries. In January I was on 4 continents in a 3 week period....whew, I was pooped. It will be much better when we soon get settled in one spot (and relocating the pup) and I just have to travel for meetings once a month.
Don't have much time to list places tonight but in a nutshell...we've been to 37 of 50 states; only 2 Canadian province; 37 countries in Europe, Central America, South America, Caribbean, Africa, and Asia. My number one goal in life is to visit each state, CA province and continent. Australia and Antarctica remain and a lot of Canada....that will be solved with a cross country train trip or long road trip in a RV.
Our next trip this weekend will be to Kerala. Our wonderful driver in Mumbai is from the area and will be our tour guide. We'll have the honor of staying with his parents one night!! I'm looking at houseboats for several nights and an overnight in one of the wildlife parks...have to see a Bengal tiger and sloth! Saw a sloth in Costa Rica one time and they are my favorite!!!!!!
By the end of April we hope to do a Delhi to Taj Mahal to Jaipur to Katmandu trip. I read about a Mt Everest flight seeing trip and I'm determined to do it! Can you just imagine? We flew over Denali at sunset one time while heading to Nome AK and it was simply stunning.
Anyways, I'm rambling now. Any hints about the Taj and Jaipur would be great! Back to work to pay for these trips
I garden, but not veggies---I'm into ornamentals. Last fall I started a new bed and planeted about 300 spring-flowering bulbs. This spring, I'm interplanting those with perennials and ground covers.
I do a LOT of gardening sitting flat on the ground. (Weeding, planting, etc.) I started doing this probably 20 years ago, when my weight and my arthritis starting really giving me trouble. Although losing 170 pounds has really helped, my knees still don't want me to do much bending over. It's easier for me to gt down on the ground, scoot around and do whatever, then get back up ONCE than to spend more than 2-3 minutes bending at the waist.

Maybe she meant it's weird to see that here on Obesity Help as courteous two sided conversations are possibly weird to her. Who knows :)
