I really enjoy gardening but took a year a couple years off intensive gardening whilst the twins were babies.  I'm really going to go at it again this year despite our minuscule back yard.

I'd love to try out some more square foot gardening this year.

When I was in Belgium we had the worst snail and slug problems, but I found that if I had a dense row of Marigolds they were so busy eating those flowers (which came back faster than they could eat them) they never touched the rest of my crops.  Best use of 'natural' gardening techniques ever.  The pots of beer could never keep them out like the flowers did ;)

I've never tried growing asparagus, but I like drilling wholes in my plant boxes and growing the strawberries out the sides, makes the picking a lot easier.

Problem I have with these little experiments are they could escalate real fast.. There was one where an elevator would open and two guys were inside with one being strangled.  The goal was to see how people reacted once the doors opened and they were about to step into this.  I could see someone getting seriously hurt and all for someone's experiment to see how people react.

How as a conversation about gun ownership with people discussing their views become out of hand and weird?

I believe that 'most' Americans would like to see tighter guidelines attached to obtaining guns.  I don't see where anyone has denounced the rights of hunters with the exception of one who also has the right to say that she doesn't believe in hunting.

But see this is where things get dicey, you can be prevented from legally purchasing a firearm if you have a criminal record, behind on child support and a few other issues.  But unless you were clinically declared mentally ill, how would anyone know?  The Federal Firearms License agencies can only use info that is provided when they submit information as part of a background check.  Yes if you were standing there in a black plastic bag with I am king sign they can turn you away.  But really who can just look at someone and declare them a nut?

I don't garden, but it's one of my goals.  My paperwork is going in to the insurance company this week, and surgery is tentatively scheduled for May 14th.  Right now at my current weight, I can't get up and down, and don't have much stamina.  I'm hoping by October I'll be in shape for some leaf raking, and maybe plant some bulbs.  Gardening is something I've always admired.

The Woodlands, Texas?  It's a beautiful area, with miles and miles of jogging, walking, bike trails.  Clean as can be, great shopping, fantastic restaurants and has become quite a business center.  Homes retain their value quite well and yes it is an upscale area.  There is wonderful entertainment, concerts, art shows, you name it, the Woodlands has it... The area puts tons of money into the upkeep of the area and I appreciate how they have demanded that neighborhoods and shopping centers retain a natural greenbelt.

Are there the social snots who think they are sophisticated and look down on everyone else.. yep  And like I said I'm sure the cat fights amongst neighbor can become silly, but it's safer then a lot of areas, and a great place to raise children.  If I had young kids I'd be in their school district.
