What name brand of cheese strings do you buy?
I need to have some ammunition for on the run times...(which I try to limit to very few!) when I can't prepare myself a meal.
There are times when I just need a munchie while on hte road.
Which ones do you buy that are the lowest in fat and high in protein?

Ezlivin...I have found that the Superstore No Name brand of skim moz. strings have the most protein!! compared to other brands....e.g. Black Diamond, Kraft, any of the other store brands....11 to be exact!! much better than the 6 gms of protein on the others....including the baby bells....Good luck...Patti K.
I've always bought the Black Diamond ones for no other reason that the differences in protein/milk content are not generally that huge....plus I like the texture of the peelable kind. There's just something about peeling it and taking my time (and that texture) that makes me enjoy those cheesestrings much more than I like any others.

I also recently found Armstrong cheese strings... flavoured - geared towards an adult market!! Forget where I found them - I'd like to say Costco perhaps? They were on par protein-wise with most of the others. I got a garden flavoured one... more like an old/aged white cheddar vs. boring mozzarella.

PS...another good on the run thing is the turkey pepperrettes...I grab 2 of those and 2 cheese strings if I am making the trek to Toronto around lunch or dinner time...easy to eat, not too much fat and good protein! Or I roll up a few pieces of ham or turkey, pop them in a ziplock all ready to eat...with my cheese strings!
