Can you stall on OPTIFAST???

I'm on Day 13...really no troubles at all...just a little bored with it.

The weight loss has slowed down though and I'm disappointed.  I've lost 16 lbs and I know that is alot for 13 days but it all happened last week...nothing since Monday of this week.

I have a little trouble getting all 4 shakes into me everyday...by 8 or 9 at night I have no interest in it or any appetite...and I don't want to force it.  Could the fact that I'm mostly just having 3 shakes not 4 be making the difference??

My water intake is pretty good, though not perfect.  I have some incontinence issues and I kind of have to plan my water intake around opportunity to be close to a washroom.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Only 2 weeks til surgery!!!.

I only had to do 3 weeks of Optifast but I was told that it was important to get all 4 shakes in each day, so even if I didn't feel like it I really tried to get them all down.   Try not to focus on the scales, I know it's easier said than done but the Optifast really is just a pre-surgery diet aimed at shrinking your liver to make the surgeons job a little easier.

I did Optifast over the Christmas holidays - so I was often drinking it from a crystal wineglass pretending it was a frozen ****tail.....different flavours of crystal light kept me interested.

Keep up the good work and remember that this is the start of a very exciting journey to the new and healthier you! Keep your eyes on the prize.

Wishing you every success.

I did two weeks of Optifast and seriously I did not see the scale move until the day of my surgery.

Just try to keep thinking of the bigger picture.  It's so hard but you can do it, you've made it this far!

Your body can't maintain a pound a day loss on a regular basis. It is natural to lose in bits here and there rather than on a daily basis as your body must (especially in ketosis) pull fat stores deep out of your body and lipolyse them. That process is affected by your sleep, your circadian rythms, your hormone fluxuations, your water intake and a million other things. You can't call it a stall after 3 days... stall is no loss for a week or more, some even say 2.

14 pounds in 13 days is terrific. Many people didn't lose 14 pounds in their entire Opti experience. Fat off the liver is not the same as fat off the liver, and that is what this pase of your journey is about.

This is the first of your challenges in fighting scale anxiety. If you are struggling with it now, it will drive you totally crazy later. Best start building skills to cope with this stage. Put the scale well away, limit weigh ins to 1/week learn to concentrate on the progress this far, meditate, read, exercise.
