Just wanted to let everyone know that I am now home and on the mend. Thank you for all the well wishes, it means alot when you have other people who support you and wish nothing but the best.

Here is what happend the day of surgery for other people going to Ottawa:

I had to be at the hospital for 6:15am which meant leaving Napanee at 3:00 in the morning. We arrived in Ottawa 45 minutes early...one good thing lots of parking in the lot lol. Took my husband Rick along with my sister and brother in-law on a tour to show them where the cafeteria was and Tim Hortons.  We sat down for a bit and read the paper until about 10 to 6.
The office wasn't open yet so we took a seat and waited about 10 minutes and the lady came out with clipboards and called out our names them put our hospital bracelet on us. The she said for us and our family to follow her.  We went into the change room while I changed. I then went into the room with my family and sat around for maybe 10 ro 15 minutes and she called me in.
I went into the room was asked to go to the bathroom before I got on the bed so off I went. Once I was done I removed me socks and put on the long white stockings. She asked me some questions and double checked to make sure I was who it said on the bracelet. After all that I layed down my family came in to see me. They were there for about 5 minutes then they came and got me as it was time to head to the OR. After reaching the OR area I was left on a the stretcher outside OR #7. I think I was out there for 15 or 20 minutes when a nurse came out and talked to me. She checked my bracelet with my paperwork and asked if I was having gastric bypass which I answer yes. After that the anesthesiologist came out to me she was a very nice lady we chatted for about 5 minutes. The nurse then came out and helped me off the stretcher and we walked into the operating room.. Got up on the bed and they started doing their stuff. I looked at the clock and it was 7:50 am  when the door opened and he walked Dr. Yelle. He asked me how I was doing and if I wanted to back out and I said NO. I did ask him how is hand was he chuckled and said good. They then put oxygen on me and the anesthesiologist told me I would start to get sleepy, so then it was off to dreamland for me.
The operation only took 2 hrs but it took me for every to come around in the recovery room, because my oxygen level was low they wouldn't let me go to my room. So finally around 3 my levels came up and I was sent to my room.Once there they did what they had to do before my family came in. Since I was feeling sick they gave me a shot of anti-nausea medication and I was off to dreamland again. So I didn't get to spend time with my family as they left to come home as I was in and out all night.
My husbands insurance covered a semi-private room and the care I recieved from Krista and Natasha was great. I have nothing but high praise for the Ottawa hospital very clean and the nurse's are super nice.

Sorry it is so long just thought some of the people going to the Civic would like to hear about my experience at the hospital. I hope you all get the same treatment (which I am sure you will) that I got.

Thank You
Esther
