I am currently taking medications for diabetes, high blood pressure, High cholesterol, celebres for osteoarthritis and something for GERD.  Dr says I can expect to have my surgery next April - May.
My question is will I continue on all my medications up to and after my surgery?  I've heard that I won't be able to swollow pills right after surgery.  How do we take our necessary drugs and vitamins then.

 Surgery:02-Dec-11 Highest: 344.6lbs  Pre-Optifast: 329lbs  Surgery: 311.6lbs  Current: 221lbs  Goal: 200lbs

We can take pills that are about 1.5 cm in diametre.  If they are bigger than that you have to split them.  Vitamins can be taken in either liquid or chewable form to make it easier.  Most vitamins are like horsepills! LOL  Best of luck to you.

YOu can't take time released meds after surgery.  Some of them are available in a patch so you need to talk to your doctor about that.  I am off all meds, except my asthma inhaler, which to me is great.  The B12 (?) I take is a strip.
