Hi Marny;

I can sympathize with you, my hair is also going on holidays without me. No idea how long this will last so I went out and bought a wig. It makes me look younger, no more expensive hair dresser trips, expensive dying or perms. No more wondering if my scalp is showing in the back of my head. It's all good for me for now as far as hair goes. Had I known that a wig was such a problem solver, I would have bought one years ago. For me, I do not miss my real hair, it was aand it more temperamental than I am.

Really, huh?  I was just joking, but hmmm.  I could probably rock a wig.  Does it make you sweat underneath though?  I would hate that.

Truthfully, summer is coming soon and work finishes next week (teacher), so I will be out of the limelight and into big sunhats,  lounging in the backyard very soon.  Maybe I won't care as much then?

Hi again;

I bought a synthetic hair wig and yes it is (I find) very warm to wear.  Of course it might not be so bad in  the Fall and Winter Seasons but right now it is *hot* under there. But then I go from air conditioned apartment to car to shopping centers, dental and doctors offices. For those people who are a little more active ( I am a senior) I would not recommend the kind I bought.

I am told that (real) human hair wigs are much more comfortable in the Summer weather but much more expensive. If I where going to be wearing a wig all my waking hours, I would buy a human hair wig. Of course the more you pay the better the product. But for sure, I could not sit outside with the wigs I own now...it would be way too warm on my head.

It is funny that something so small in the scheme of things is a big deal. I finally decided to grow my hair long after having it short for years only to find out that I will most likely lose a big part of it. Keep hoping when I do lose it and it grows back I will lose the gray??? Please!!

I love they way you write. It does express how we feel about our hair. Too bad we can't just shave it all off. I will just have to wait. Actually can't wait until this time next year when I can be 100 lbs lighter and have a new head of hair.

Thanks :)

I get the whole "it will grow back' thing, and I'd gladly shed a hundred heads of hair to loose the amount of weight that I have so far.  The thing is that I feel sexier and sassier than ever before.  I have been 224 pounds before, but lemme tell ya- it didn't feel nearly as good going up as it has coming down!  So, the whole hair thing is putting a damper on my new groove!  I had very fine hair to begin with, so it really feels like I have very little left, and most of the loss is in the front, right where I can see it.  If it was in the back I would probably turn a blind eye (ignorance is bliss), but sadly, it is not.

I hope it grows back better than before.  That is a little glimmer of hope to cling to I guess.

A girlfriend and I went trying on hair pieces one day. There are certainly some sexy ones out there. Maybe this can be a time for us to try out different styles with the new look!
