good morning everyone!
i took a vacation day today.. i have so many days saved up; just thought i'd use one to get some stuff done around here. i have the relay for life on friday, so i need to get my shirt done and things prepared for that. woo.
karen, i'm sorry to hear about your troubles. i can't imagine how frustrating it must be to have worked so hard, then put on some weight for reasons beyond your control. keep your head up. you are still FABULOUS. xox

B - 8 oz skim milk + protein powder

S - 1/2 cup cottage cheese + 8 blueberries

L - 1 cup chicken coleslaw

S - sf chocolate pudding + cookies 'n cream protein powder

D - not sure yet; our childcare is having a family BBQ tonight..

May 17th, 2010 - Orientation at Windsor Hospital
May 26th, 2010 - Appointment with nurse and SW
June 1st, 2010 - Appointment with NUT and doctor
August 31st, 2010 - Follow up with SW, NUT and doctor
October 7th, 2010 - Surgical Education Class
November 2nd, 2010 - Consultation with Dr. Jules Foute Nelong
December 21st, 2010 - SURGERY DAY!

Loving your menu! Do you have a recipe for the chicken coleslaw? And where did you get the cookies n' cream protein powder? What brand? I have been looking for something like this.

hey!

the chicken coleslaw was actually a recipe from eggface. here it is:

1 cup Smoked Turkey Breast, diced (i had chicken on hand, so i just substituted)
1/2 (1/2 a 16-ounce bag so 1 cup) bag Broccoli Slaw Mix
1/2 (1/2 a 16-ounce bag so 1 cup) bag Cabbage Slaw Mix
1/2 cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded
1/4 Small Red Onion, diced fine
1/4 cup Raisins
1/4 cup Slivered Almonds
1/4 cup Mayo (i used ff miracle whip)
1/4 cup Greek Yogurt
1 Tablespoon BBQ Sauce
1 Tablespoon Cider Vinegar
1/2 teaspoon Kosher Salt
a few twists of Black Pepper to taste

In a large bowl combine turkey, slaw mixes, onion, cheese, raisins and almonds. Mix mayo, yogurt, BBQ sauce, and vinegar together. Pour the dressing over the slaw mixture, season with salt & pepper and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour before serving.


as for the protein powder, i usually get my stuff at this place by my house called 'sportmax'. but the cookies n cream that i have on hand right now was just from walmart. the brand is "iso sensation 93". 1 scoop = 130 calories, 30 grams of protein.

Awesome. I bookmarked it. Sounds soooooooooooooooooo good!!! Both of them!

What kind of BBQ sauce do you use? I was thinking I'd love to get some for chicken on the BBQ, but need to do some nutrition investigations first to see what I could have.

D-mashed eggs
S-protein shake

Walked to work - may or may not walk home depending if Im up to it.
Referral sent on 26 Feb 2010 - Sleep Study on 28 May 2010 - Info session at WMC on 14 Jan 11- Appt with the APN (nurse) on 27 Jan 11 - Dietician and Behaviorist appts on Feb 24. WLS Class 6th April 2011 - Surgeon appt 3 May 2011 Dr Yelle - Surgery June 6th

Good day everyone :)

It's a cooler one out there today BUT I remember a day that even this "cooler" weather woulda made me sweat profusely, so I will suck it up and wear a light jacket :).

B - hamburger patty

S - nothing

L - protein shake on the road

S - cheese string/apple

Su - chicken or turkey sausages bbq'd not sure yet and a salad more than likely

S - protein bar

Afternoon. :)

B - Protein shake.
S - Light babybel, 8 almonds.
L - 1/2 veggie chicken burger, no bun.
S - Yogurt, Decaf with 1% milk.
D - Edamame with a little dash of salt.
S - Yogurt and maybe some jello after the treadmil - very refreshing!

Already did some walking this morning. Off to the park with Quinn on this beautiful afternoon once he's up from his nap. Treadmill tonight of course.

Still struggling with getting in 2L of water - I am generally getting in no less than 1.5L. Vits in :)

Still no sleep since monday night....sigh.  Sorry to hear you are frustrated Karen.....I feel for you.  One foot in front of the other!

Good afternoon ladies....

Late in posting today....
went to my GP and got a referral to plastic surgeon....she'll call with a date....

Found out it's not and ulcer but gastritis...I'm to stay on the meds for three months solid....
since my last bout lasted a month and that was just in March......

Feeling really down lately....but I have been sleeping my 6 -7 hrs....that's the good news!!!!!
