6 Months Out
Well I'm 6 months out today and have lost 90 lbs so far. All I can say is so far so good. I've not had any food issues nor have I experienced any complications (knock on wood); but that being said I also haven't pushed the envelope, I've stayed away from sugars and fats.
I'm not finding it as difficult as I imagined to stick to the diet for life. One of my biggest concerns going into the surgery was having to give up alcohol for the 6 months. I can honestly say I haven't had even a sip in well over 6 months if you include the 3 weeks on optifast. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I've been the designated driver a lot! I haven't missed the social drinks as much as I thought I would. Although I can say that at some point over this weekend I'm going to indulge in a celebratory glass of wine.
For all of those still awaiting surgery, all I can say is that it hasn't been easy, but if you are determined to make your tool work for you, it's not that bad either. I don't feel deprived and I'm loving the new energy and stamina. I would do it all over again in a minute and if I regret anything it's that I didn't do it years ago.
Thank you to all my OH friends who have shared my successes and offered encouragement when needed. It's great to be able to share with people who are walking such similar paths.
I'll try to get a new picture posted later this week.

You're doing so well Muriel! I'm so happy for you. My only advice is to sip that glass of wine very slowly or you might be dancing on the table without your shirt! haha
Cheers,
