I would assume that at your surgeons visit when he approves and has you sign consent then "surgery is ordered". Usually you are given your date at the same time and you can see how that makes their "wait times" so short

When your GP refers you to the bariatric registry, you aren't actually being referred for surgery, you're referred for ASSESSMENT for surgery. It's only when you actually meet with the surgeon and he says ok that you're referred for surgery - they are counting the time between your surgeon's appt and your surgery only. That's it. This is a completely disingenuous, misleading and poor way for them to calculate the wait time.
