Provincial Wait times

taken from the same web site for wait times:

How do we measure wait times?

  • For surgical wait times, we track the time between when a surgery is ordered and when it is performed.

I would assume that at your surgeons visit when he approves and has you sign consent then "surgery is ordered". Usually you are given your date at the same time and you can see how that makes their "wait times" so short

According to the ministry, your wait time was only 82 days - the time between meeting the surgeon and your surgery.

When your GP refers you to the bariatric registry, you aren't actually being referred for surgery, you're referred for ASSESSMENT for surgery. It's only when you actually meet with the surgeon and he says ok that you're referred for surgery - they are counting the time between your surgeon's appt and your surgery only. That's it. This is a completely disingenuous, misleading and poor way for them to calculate the wait time.
