An entirely humourous bathroom story...what a morning.
What a hellish morning I had. I went for an early morning training session (hellish, but enjoyable if that makes any sense), with my kiddies in tow. Upon arriving home exhausted and sweaty, my eldest daughter runs upstairs to use the bathroom, only something goes wrong and the end result is water flooding our bathroom floor. ACK! I quickly grab whatever I can to stop the water from seeping anywhere else, and then attack the toilet with the plunger, only nothing happens. To add to the misery, my 3 year old runs into the bathroom with an "I have to PEEEE...right now", and proceeds to have a potty accident on the floor. Double ACK! I had to disinfect myself and haul the children out to Home Depot to find and buy a "toilet auger", yes that's right, a "toilet auger". Imagine a long snaky thing with a knob at one end and a crank at the other. With this new purchase in tow, I arrive home and furiously work away at the toilet until a miracle happens, the clog is unclogged, the mess cleaned up and the bathroom is sanitized floor to ceiling. I am woman. Hear me roar!! We are open for business once again.
Now here's the kicker.....youngest daughter comes in from the backyard, tears up the stairs once again intending to make the toilet, and of course can't hold it. Sigh. One more round of sanitizing later, I decide to try my luck with the dreaded toilet only to find....we are out of toilet paper. UUUUUGH.
Some days you just have to laugh otherwise you might just crack. This was one of those days

OOOOOdles.
The last day if school, all the teachers are secretly doing the happy dance and the parents are starting to feel that internal dread "How am I going to entertain them for two whole months?!" If you are a tearcher and a mother, you alternate doing a happy dance and sobbing a few tears. hahaha.
Seriously though- It's nice to be home with them for sure- cute little tarts they are- but boy is it ever a lot of work. Kudoos to all the stay at home moms out there.

I sure remember those mixed feelings well! I could always count on Jesse hauling out the "Mom, I'm boooored" complaint around the middle of day 3. LOL
BTW, have you ever checked out the quite awesome play structure and totally awesome splash pad at Lake Front Promendade Park down in Lakeview (just past Port Credit)? Hours and oodles of free fun. Jesse and I used to go there almost daily.

I have! That is a great park!! I just found a brand new park with splash pad that opened up just in time for this summer season. It is at thevery bottom of Southdown Road, just after you round the bend, and about half way between Southdown and Winston Churchill. The have 3 really unique playscapes, and a splash pad with tons of fountains- all spank'in new. I'll take them there in a day or two. We had out-of-towners with kids here for the last 4 days, so I am busy cleaning up the aftermath. With the little distraction this morning, I am behind schedule :P
Ooooh, very cool! And Lewis Bradley outdoor pool on Inverhouse just re-opened too! I feel an evening swim coming on. :)

Sounds heavenly. I am on my way to Lake Superior in 2 weeks (Pancake Bay), and I am already having daydreams about lying on those white sandy beaches, and the cool water. Ahhhhhh. The very definition of peace. My kids will play at the shore for hours and hours without a single demand. It is worth the 8 hour drive for sure.
