Good for you, Leona!  I's so good to hear you say this. Liking yourself is a huge step towards feeling strong and empowered.

It's funny, as kids, we're taught not to be "show-offs" and to be rather self-effacing (at least that's how it was in my house). As an overweight adult, that feeling has carried through even farther for me because I find that I don't want to attract attention to myself because I don't feel attractive or "worthy" of anyone's attention. That's just for the thin, pretty girls.

That's why it makes me smile to read your post & I want to just give you a big hug & a round of applause for breaking through that feeling & recognizing what a terrific person you are. I love your new pic - you are a very attractive, smart lady who can hold her own anywhere and guess what Leona?

Leona , your looking great .keep up the good work. Your right about not liking yourself when your overweight . in my case I said i had WLS because I didnt want diabetis and my knees were killing me going up the stairs. but now i noticed that I have more confidence ,not as depressed .I'm worth knowing .
