Hi everyone - I'm out of the hospital

Glad to hear all went well.  My Hamilton experience was nothing but positive, such nice nurses. 

My grandchildren wanted to see the "holes" and were surprised they weren't bigger.  They were a little afraid to hug me because they thought it might hurt me, they are the best!

Just get lots of rest and don't overdue anything or you will feel it.

awsome Megan!!!! so glad to hear things went well.  Excited to hear all about your progress as time marches on.  Quick question ...... was thinking about transportation from Tbay as there are no direct flights from Thunder Bay to Hamilton, what did you end up doing I was thinking Toronto via porter then taking go train, just wondering what others did and what worked and didn't work as far as transportation is concerned.

not sure on how you feel about broth...but when I was recuperating in the hospital I had my DH go out and buy some Wonton soup (minus the wontons)...it tasted SOOOOOO good after drinking just liquids...I would heat a cup of that up at a time...

I just wanted to say I know exactly what you mean.  I just had my surgery on August 9th and I was blessed with having Dr. Gmora do my surgery as well.  He was amazing.  He was funny, talked me through my doubts, and checked in on me like 3 times a day.  Than his secretary called today to see how I was at home, because the doctor wanted to know how I was.  I tell you it was the most pleasant experience I have ever had and I would recommend him to everyone.  I also thought I would write to you because I'm in St. Catharines, and I figure you must be close to me.

Hi Vicky - glad to hear you're doing so well.  I'm not close to you at all - I'm in Thunder Bay!!  I think we're very lucky to have had Dr. Gmora for our surgeries.  I have had no problems, very minimal bruising, deep genuine concern from him - I just can't believe the earthiness of this guy.  When they were prepping me for surgery, the nurse commented to me about how "not arrogant" he was, and that I was very fortunate to have him.  He was so down to earth when he was talking to me, the only thing he didn't do was put his feet up on the bed!!  That's how in tune he is with his patients.  We also stayed at the Crowne Plaza, and I would recommend it to anyone - beautiful rooms, nice place, convenient to hospital, etc.  Glad you're doing well.  Hope to hear more from you as you progress.

Hi, Megan, I am so happy for you it's great that you are all done and now get to go forward with healing. I was wondering , how long after surgeon consult did you have to wait for the class before surgery? Also how long after did you wait for surgery after that?  I to am from thunderbay centre. Thankyou.
