You don't often hear this........
Totally suffered beforehand. Not to this extent, mind you.

In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.

Hi Karen;
Zoloft may be another possibility for you. It is also an SSRI, used to treat depression. It is not known to cause weight gain...in fact, loss of appetite is a common side effect. It's also effective in treating anxiety and obsessive/compulsive tendencies. You can start at a low dose and increase usually in 25mg increments until you feel better.
Depression is a real bugger...hope you find something that works for you.

Hi Karen. I'm sorry your having a rough go. I had TERRIBLE post-partum depression after Quinn was born - worst time of my life when it should have been the best. Since then I have tried a few different drugs but had some yucky side effects (Cymbalta, Zoloft, and Welbutrin). Finally I was prescribed Prozac (generic brand is fluoxetine - an SSRI)! This is my happy drug! It has worked fabulously for me! I had night sweats for the first couple of months, but that is long gone. I did start this drug well before surgery and did not gain any weight - in fact I lost my appetite to be honest, which is why I didn't gain before surgery I'm sure. It is not extended/time released so you are good there.
Hope you find something that works - I know all about the trial and error thing.
