Karen

Hugs for you.  The person that called you that obviously doesn't know how much of a caring, giving person you are.  I commend you so much and think highly of you.  After 5 years out from surgery and you still keep coming back to the board to offer help, suggestions and your caring hugs and angel duty.

Hope things get better for you.

YOu might want to look into Lexapro too.  Weight neutral.    I'll be adding non extended tabs - of Wellbutrin to deal with fatigue I'm dealing with. (partial Lexapro - partial a recent family death -  and so just how I deal with depression - sleep.)
Pick your surgery first, then your surgeon. Not the other way around.
PS:... Potato chips should be a food group.

I'm tired of screwing with that damn health widget.
I've lost 125 pounds to date!!!!
   And I'm UNDER 190 now!!!

Last I looked into this there are no non extended release verisions of Wellbutrin on the Canadian Market - though an non extended release version is available in the states.

If you can PM me the DIN (drug Identification) number) of the non extended version that would be great.
Sometimes the best support  you can get isn't all purple puddles and pink rainbows.

My daughter suffers from depression and she is currently taking Pristiq. She is doing amazing on it and feels so much better. She's also lost about ten pounds since taking it. She's been on it for 5 months now and has no side effects, sleeps well, no lethargy, good all around!!

Chin-up,

"He who has injured thee was either stronger or weaker than thee. If weaker, spare him; if stronger, spare thyself."

"William Shakespeare"

James.

Maybe they meant "Sexy *****".

I'm reposting this here because I put it under ribabit's post in error (oops)

Unfortunately, yes, according to my husband's dr. He was put on it, and that is one of the first things the dr. mentioned to him (my husband was happy as he WANTS to gain weight...uggh!). After taking his first dose, he was semi-conscious on the couch stating repeatedly "Im hungry!". He didn't remember this the next day! LOL He's been on it for about a month now, and I have seen some improvement in his high anxiety, which is a good thing as it improves my anxiety level when he controls his, thus I overeat less. That being said, he just can't stop snacking sometimes. I sit in awe watching him. He says he doesn't know why he is eating sometimes, but he always feels hungry after supper until he goes to bed. Sometimes he goes to bed, then ten minutes later he gets up to have a snack because the hunger won't let him sleep.

Good luck Karen. It's not a med for everyone. Are you taking it with something else? (kind of not my business I guess) I'm just asking because it is not usually prescribed as a stand alone treatment, but as a boost for other ones.

(I also want to note that my husband is taking it WITH Effexor and Xanax, and he was starting to have anxiety episodes even on those two meds-this is psychiatrist dosed, not from his GP. I'm on Cymbalta, and it works good for me, but not everyone. The first 2-3 days on it are hell but if you stick with it and don't give up, it works nicely. Most freak out after the first day and give up though because you feel catatonic/fogged beyond belief while your brain's chemistry is adjusted by the med)
