Cheating
I confess I did break down. That was the first day though. I was dizzy, shaky irratable, headcahes and felt like I was going to pass out. I had the food I ate and after was thinking what am I doing. Your doing this for a reason and its not this. that was my last thought of the bad foods. I have not even thought about take out or food in general since that day. The hunger goes away beleive me. I am on day 9 and it feels like I don't get hungry, well there is tiny spurts but nothing a little water will fix. Goodluck on the optifast. I can't have any thing bu****er tea or coffee. Yes, I cheated, but they were very small cheats. On day 3 I was dying for something that wasn't optifast, so I had a cracker and the tiniest piece of cheese. Throughout the rest of the time, I found myself having just a taste of the odd thing here and there - usually a protein, tiny bite of pork chop, a little meatball, that sort of thing. But in the second week I was true to the program b/c I was very afraid of something staying in my system and screwing up surgery. But I really got sick of the sweet taste of everything - I was really craving some savoury flavours. Hang in there - it's always best if you can stick to the program 100%.
Had RNY surgery July 22/11, St. Joe's Hamilton, with the awesome Dr. Scott Gmora. Had abdominoplasty August 2/13, Scarborough, with equally awesome Dr. Michael Kreidstein.

I want to pass on a zen saying by which I try to live my life; I hope it may help you:
Do one thing right one time. Do it again.
Don't think about two weeks ahead, one week ahead, or even the whole day ahead as it may overwhelm you and lead you to cheat. Take it moment by moment, and in each moment make the right choice.
You can do this.

DON'T beat yourself up. The Dr. I used didn't insist on the liquid crap.. umm.. I mean, the delicious meal replacement drink- I was lucky.
Remember, that just like most addicts, we are going to make mistakes, and occasionally fail- the important thing is to remember the mistake- and move on- ONE DAY AT A TIME....
You are going to do fine.. Good luck!
