OT - Do nice things for yourself : )

I've been trying to get into a better habit of taking care of myself instead of always taking care of other people.  I am kind of the person that always has her kids and husband dressed in nice clothes, kids clean and hair done, etc. but I always wear my same clothes for years and never indulge in nice things or fun things for myself.....

but I decided enough is enough.....

Today I treated myself to a pedicure and manicure and not from some cheapie 20 dollar salon but from a really nice spa and I had a super fantastic time - it felt great and I feel great too!  I got this new Shellack nailpolish all of my friends have been raving about and it's so strong and I think I might finally be able to grow my nails because of it!!

I'm so excited in fact that I'm going to book myself an appointment at a hair salon in a couple of weeks and get my hair cut and highlighted!  I always dye my hair with 7.99 hair dye and get my friend to cut it off...but I think in celebration of myself I'm going to treat myself to the salon and get a nice color treatment and cut!

So psyched!

Do something nice for yourself everyone - it feels great!!

How about that, I went for a mani/pedi today and not in the cheap place, makes a real difference doesn't it.
I figured I've easily saved the money from not buying junk food LOL since I started this process, and of course 2 weeks of sf jello, chicken broth and apple helped also.
We all need to do this, we are worth, thanks for reminding us!

I had my first pedi ever just before I went to Hamilton, but unfortunately I had to remove it - didn't know about that.  So now I'm going to treat myself to another one - why?  Because I vowed to be kinder to myself, that's why!  And I just heard about the shellack (sp?) polishes today, so I might give it a try.  Thanks for the reminder to book that appointment.

Had RNY surgery July 22/11, St. Joe's Hamilton, with the awesome Dr. Scott Gmora.  Had abdominoplasty August 2/13, Scarborough, with equally awesome Dr. Michael Kreidstein.

You are absolutely right!  One of the changes I've made is to stop rewarding myself with food and start rewarding myself with things that make me feel good about myself.  It's a challenge sometimes but well worth the time and effort.  Well done!

I am 52 yrs old and have NEVER had a mani/pedi or massage!!!!! Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy haven't I pampered myself?  Pink, thanks for posting about this!  Now i've set a goal to treat myself once I hit 100 lbs lost and get a mani/pedi.  Hmmmm I can't even imagine what it would feel like having someone else work on my feet!  I'd probablyl be rolling around laughing lolllll.
