...CHOCOLATE CAKE!   I am going to my parent's house for a birthday BBQ today for my brother and of course it's my job to bring the damn cake.  My son has a peanut allergy so I have always handled the desserts, just to be on the safe side.  So now I have this giant chocolate cake, covered with chocolate covered strawberries, that I will be bringing and I can't have any!!!  This is the universe screwing with me.  It's like asking the alcoholic to bring the damn beer!  Oh well, I'll let you know how it goes!  LOL

Send me that recipe please, I would love to try it!  I tried the cake today but I only had enough to grab the tip of the fork.  Maybe half a teaspoon.  It was heavenly and all I needed.  :)

I'm glad that sweets were never a problem for me.  I could look at chocolate cake all day long and not care a bit.  If you were bringing a large bowl of mashed potatoes however, I may hurt you trying to get at it !

Don't worry, you can do this!!

I make cakes on the side, so after dealing with them so often, it's not an issue anymore.  It's the licking the icing off my spatula when I'm done that I have to watch.

Why not take some strawberries, plain, just for yourself?

at work, we do this thing called "warm fuzzies". each month, someone is responsible for doing something nice for the staff (bringing in a treat, writing a nice card, sending flowers..)
my staff love the treatza pizza from DQ so i decided to make a homemade one.
it involved an entire bag of fudgie-o's and a can of chocolate icing for the crust, then another can of chocolate icing, a tub of vanilla ice cream, a pack of m&ms and melted chocolate chips for the topping. everyone was like, "why would you make something you can't even eat?!" but i did it because i knew they would enjoy it and i was not even tempted to have one small bite! and good thing for me, they polished that thing off before i could even be tempted! haha

You can do it.  Resist, resist.

Had RNY surgery July 22/11, St. Joe's Hamilton, with the awesome Dr. Scott Gmora.  Had abdominoplasty August 2/13, Scarborough, with equally awesome Dr. Michael Kreidstein.
