Patience

I hear ya I am in limbo land right now waiting on a surgical consult.  Hope to hear within a couple of weeks if not I begin calling :)

So i just contacted the Registry and they said it would be a year before i even get to have orientation....WOW

wow they must be getting totally back logged! that is crazy

 by the time I have my surgery I will wait  21 months from referral to surgery

You have about a year to wait so you will need to find patience.
For me it was working on bad habits. I cut out pop, caffiene, junk food. Haven't had any since April. I also had access to a Dietician thru my EAP at work which I took advantage off. Did manage to lose 35 before Opti. It gave me something to focus on. As well joined up with a support group and met up with great people at all stages pre and post which really helped me.

 Just stay patient.  I am still waiting and my original referral went in Jan 11/2010, some how got lost in the shuffle of the registry creation and bounced around.  I still have yet to see a surgeon and have not attended any classes beyond the orientation last December.  I have been told mine should happen sometime this winter.  Not to sure what exactly that means.  Stay strong and start making changes now.  

 
After gnawing on my frustrations for months upon months, I finally just shifted it out of my mind. Life became busy, and I became preoccupied. When the appointments came up, it barely phased me. Not to say I wasn't excited that it was finally falling into place, but I had already shifted priorities at that point.

So my advice is to just try to focus on other things in your life if you find yourself getting frustrated. Hobbies, family, settling things around the house in preparation for the changes, etc.
