For those with TWH...
For me it was 14months from referral to surgery. Most seem to be around 9-14 months. It varies depending on your health issues. Usually about 4 months after orientation to surgery.
If you suspect you have sleep apnea or use a CPAP then ask your GP for a sleep study or ensure you have had one within the last 2 yrs. Fortunately other than sleep study I did not need anyother pre-op testings done.
I have friends whose referrals went in in Feb, had orientation beginning of August and next appointments are Nov/Dec.

My referral was originally sent in August 2010, but since the provincial government was starting the bariatric registry, I don't think TWH really received my referral until January 2011. My Orientation class was June 2011, Social Worker & Nurse Practioner August 2011, Nutrition Class September 2011, October was Nutritional Assessment & Psych-Social Assessment... and now I am waiting for team to evaluate my file and refer me to meet a surgeon...

My timeline is longish as my initial referral went to Ottawa but once I got the ball rolling at TWH it was 6 months from orientation to surgery.

My timeline is in my signature line as well. My summer appts were kind of spread out because of summer vacations at TWH. As you can see my last too appts in the initial phase are next week. Sometimes it seems like it has been forever since i talked to my GP and at other times it seems to have flown by.
