Brand new here.  Just had RNY Nov. 17th.  Now on full-fluids and have gained 2 pounds.  Is there any need to worry? PS.  happy to see others that I can chat with.

Don't worry about the scale right now. Put it away for a while. Right now it's time to focus on healing, your eating plan and your water/ protein goals. The weight will come off in time. I gained 11 lbs overnight at the hospital!!!

nope. nothing to worry about. Put your scale away, you need to just focus on getting rest, getting your nutrition.

Relax. happy that you're here!!

Thanks so much for your replies and support.  I WILL put the scales away.  I have returned to my walking routine but not quite as quick just yet.  I am still trying to adjust to the new life.  Getting my water in and knowing if I have enough protien in.  Thanks again and I feel great!

welcome aboard and onto the bench.  What area of the province are you in?  There's probably a group that gets together in your area.

Yes, put your scale away for a while.  Also, do yourself a favour and have someone take your measurements and photos regularly (once a month or so).  Down the road, there may be moments when you are frustrated by the scale, but your measurements or photos will be able to assure you of your progress.

It sounds like you are retaining water.  Have you had a lot of fluids lately with higher salt content?  If you are female, could it be the TOM?

Good luck.

Don't worry for even a second.  These things happen all the damn time. Just keep doing what you're doing. :)
